Ayako Uehara

Uehara started playing golf at age 12, turned professional in 2003, and made her way onto the LPGA Tour on her first attempt. Together with Ai Miyazato and Sakura Yokomine, she was a member of the Japanese team that won a silver medal at the 2002 Asian Games.
Won the 1998 Japan Junior Golf Championship and the 2002 Japan Women's Amateur Golf Championship. Turned pro in 2002. Uehara has three international professional victories, all on the Japan LPGA Tour. She finished third in the LPGA's 2012 Mizuno Classic. Made her way onto the LPGA Tour on her first attempt and hails from the same region of Japan as current LPGA Tour players Ai and Mika Miyazato.
2013 was her rookie year on the LPGA Tour and she made 14 cuts out of 16 events to finish 58th on the 2013 money list. Recorded a season-best T-9th in the ShopRite LPGA Classic presented by Acer and finished third in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Points. Ended the season ranked fifth on Tour in driving accuracy.

Also finished 8th at the ANA Inspiration. She was named to the Japan team for the UL International Crown as an injury replacement for Ai Suzuki and went 2-0-1 in the matches. She won $311,510 which ranked 63rd on the money list and was 69th in the Race to CME.
2019 Notes: Best finish T-11th at the ISPS Handa Vic Open.
