Blayne Barber

Barber grew up in the small North Central Florida town of Lake City, playing golf at Quail Heights Country Club with his dad, who began taking him to the course when he was 3. At age 7, Blayne told his mom he wanted to be a professional golfer when he grew up. Barber played baseball until he was 12, but decided to give it up to focus on golf.
He won the 2007 AJGA Birks & Mayors Junior Championship, 2006 FSGA Junior Championship, 2006 FSGA Junior Match Play Invitational, 2008 Florida State Golf Association Junior Championship, 2009 Florida State Amateur, and 2009 St. Augustine Amateur. He was also named the 2006 FSGA Junior Player of the Year and has played in three U.S. Amateurs, with his best result in 2010 when he reached the Round of 32.
Barber started his collegiate career at Central Florida, where he spent one season before transferring to Auburn University. He was a three-time All-American, earning first-team honors as a junior. Barber played for the USA Team at the 2011 Walker Cup as well as the 2011 and 2012 Palmer Cups. He has a bachelor's degree in finance from Auburn.
2012 Notes: Made his professional debut on the Web.com Tour at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational. A year after missing the cut in Columbus, Ohio, as an amateur, he enjoyed four par-or-better rounds to T-33rd. He played in the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open and opened with rounds of 67-69 at TPC Sawgrass' Dye's Valley Course. He eventually finished T-15th in Ponte Vedra Beach.
2013 Notes: Made three of seven cuts. A T-57th at the last season event, the Cox Classic, was not enough to move him into the top 75 and onto the Web.com Tour Finals. 2013 Web.com Summary - tournaments entered - seven; rounds played - 19; in money - three; top-10 finishes - two; money - $56,586 (ranked 85th); best finish, T-second News Sentinel Open.
He made his PGA Tour debut at the Northern Trust Open in February. Shot opening rounds of 69-70 and finished T-42nd at Riviera C.C. Three weeks later, he played in the Puerto Rico Open and T-24th, thanks to a pair of 66s in the first and third rounds.
2014 Notes: Web.com Summary - tournaments entered - 20; rounds played - 68; in money - 16; top-10 finishes - six; scoring average - 69.21 (ranked fifth); money - $269,111 (ranked seventh); Best finish - winner at the South Georgia Classic. Officially secured his 2015 PGA Tour card for the first time at the conclusion of the Regular Season in late August (seventh on the money list).
2015 Notes: T-8th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T-9th at the Sanderson Farms Championship, T-9th at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
