Brad Bryant

Started playing golf at age 10, going to the course with his father. Obtained his PGA Tour card in 1978, and in the 1982 Players Championship, was tied for the lead after three rounds with Bruce Lietzke. Eventually tied for second with Scott Simpson behind Jerry Pate. Later in the year, he was runner-up at the Quad Cities Open. The following year, he was runner-up in the Byron Nelson Classic.
In 1984, he injured his left shoulder. Though he tried to play through it, he eventually underwent surgery in December 1985. His recovery was long and slow, but he returned to form in 1988.
In 1989, he finished 84th on the money list. Credits his success in part to work done with David Leadbetter. His nickname on tour is "Dr. Dirt" because of his "five o'clock" beard. In 1995, he recorded his first win after 474 tournaments at the Walt Disney Classic.
He played full-time on the PGA Tour from 1978-97 and again in 1999. Throughout this time, he played in 560 events, had one win, 49 top-10 finishes and earnings of $3.6 million.
He joined the PGA Tour Champions in 2005, after finishing third at the National Qualifying Tournament. In 2006, he lost a three-hole playoff to Jay Haas in the Senior PGA Championship at Oak Tree National Golf Club. Then in 2007, he won the U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straits with a final-round 68 and 6-under-par total to defeat Ben Crenshaw by three strokes.
2011 Notes: Finished among the PGA Tour Champions' top-30 money-winners for a seventh consecutive season, placing 30th for a second straight season. His best finish was T-2nd at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach.
2012 Notes: Despite battling foot problems for much of the year, he again finished among the top 30 on the money list, the eighth consecutive season he's earned a spot in the season-ending Charles Schwab Cup Championship. Had nine top 10s in 19 starts, including a pair of third-place finishes and a runner-up at the Montreal Championship.
2013 Notes: Played in 17 events, with a pair of top-10 finishes. Teamed with Tom Purtzer for a T-4th at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf. The pair was among the leaders of the weekend after rounds of 65-64. Registered a fourth-place finish at the Greater Hickory Kia Classic after tying for the lead in the latter part of the front nine in the final round. Was 62nd on the money list with $230,516.
2014 Notes: Played in 10 events, his fewest starts since joining the Champions Tour in 2005. Best finish was during his first start of the season. Though he trailed Michael Allen by four strokes after 36 holes, he used a final-round 68 to finish T-fifth in the Allianz Championship. Effort in first start of the season was his best since he was fourth in the fall of 2013, at the Greater Hickory Kia Classic at Rock Barn.
2015 Notes: Played in 17 events, but failed to post a top-10 finish for the first time in his Champions Tour career. Best finish was T-12th at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. Was also T-14th at the ACE Group Classic and 55th on the money list.
2016 Notes: Started his year with a T-6th at the Allianz Championship. Joined his brother, Bart, to finish T-4th at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf in April. Only top-tens in 17 events, was 55th on the money list and Schwab ranking.
2017 Notes: Played in just 6 events, best finish T-22nd at the Bass Pro Shops Legends with partner Tom Purtzer. Best finish in an individual event, T-41st at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
2018 Notes: Played in 5 PGA Tour Champions, best finish T-28th American Family Insurance.
2019 Notes: Finished T-13th at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf with brother Bart.
