Brad Fritsch

This is his third USGA championship, he played in the 2000 U.S. Amateur and 2006 U.S. Open, missing the cut in both.
He was born in Alberta, Canada, but grew up in Ottawa and lists the late Payne Stewart as his hero. He got his start in golf from his parents, who are both avid golfers. His uncle is Ed Schultz from "The Ed Show" on MSNBC. Fritsch graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University.
After turning pro in 2000, he joined the Canadian Tour in 2001. Between 2001 and 2006, he played most of his golf on the Canadian Tour. In 70 events, he had eight top 10s, his best finish was T-2nd at the 2004 Bay Mills Open. He finished 2006 with a win at the Azores Open and made it to the finals of PGA Tour Qualifying School where he finished T-75th, earning him a spot on the Web.Com Tour.
He played on the Web.Com Tour from 2007 to 2009 before losing his card and returning to play on the PGA Tour Canada in 2010 and 2011.

2012 Web.com Summary: tournaments entered - 26; rounds played - 88; in money - 18; top-10 finishes - seven; scoring average - 70.11 (ranked 24th); money - $212,168 (ranked 18th); best finish - T-2nd at the Mylan Classic. At the end of the year, he finished T-7th at PGA Tour Qualifying School, which earned his PGA Tour card for 2013.
2013 Notes: As a PGA Tour rookie, he made 24 starts and 18 cuts. His best showing was a T-9th at the Farmers Insurance Open in January. He had one other top-25 (T-20th) at the Reno-Tahoe Open in August and finished the season 129th on the FedExCup points list and 142nd on the money list. He played in all four Web.com Tour Finals' events. He missed the first three cuts, then shot 70-68-68-66 at the season-ending Web.com Tour Championship to capture a T-2nd finish, two off winner Chesson Hadley's pace. The runner-up got him his PGA Tour card for 2014.
2014 Notes: He had a 10th-place finish at the Farmers Insurance Open and a pair of top 10s at the end of the year, T-9th at the RBC Canadian Open and T-8th at the Wyndham Championship. He finished 151st in the FedExCup standings and 140th on the money list. He attempted to regain his exempt status for the 2015 PGA Tour season via the Web.com Tour Finals, but fell short. He made two cuts (T-46th at the Chiquita and T-58th at the Web.Com Tour Championship) in four events. He had a T-4th at the Rex Hospital Open. At the end of the year, he returned to Web.Com Qualifying School and was medalist to regain his Web.Com Tour card for 2015.
In 2015, he has had one top-10 finish, T-8th at Rex Hospital Open.
