Chris Hunsucker

He was born in Morsonville, North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina- Charlotte. He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas and is a teaching professional at the Mac Wylie Golf Center in Boeme, Texas.
Hunsucker tried to play on the PGA Tour, making the final of Q-school twice. In 1993 he missed the tour card by just two shots. However, heplayed on the Web.Com Tour in 1994.
Hunsucker played in 27 events and made 13 cuts. His best finish was T-11th in the South Carolina Classic. He finished 75th on the money list with $18,809. He played on the Web.Com Tour again in 1995 in 28 events and made 10 cuts. His best finish was T-18th at the Texarkana Open. He was 117th on the money list with $10,912. He had to Monday qualify for the tour and did play in 11 events in 1998, his best finish was T-43rd at the Ozarks Open.
Hunsucker played on the Asian Tour in 1998-2001 and then went to European Tour Q-school three times but never made it. He played for several years on the Hooters Tour and won twice. He was the Texas Senior Open winner in 2016.
On May 17th, he diagnosed with second stage colon cancer and still went to try and qualify for the Senior Open on May 29th. Hunsucker shot a 71 at The Woodlands Country Club in Spring, Texas. He was the first alternate and on June 5th, had surgery to remove the cancer. He does not need further treatment.
