Daniel Chopra

Born to a Swedish mother and Indian father. Claims to be the first person to hit a golf ball off the Great Wall of China, in 1995. Moved to India at age 7 and was raised by grandparents. Won the All-India Junior Golf Championship at the age of 14. Won two more Indian Junior titles plus the Doug Sanders World Junior title. Finished T-3rd at the 2000 Tour Players Championship on the Japan Golf Tour. Member of the European Tour 1996-2000. Won the 2002 Mercuries Masters on the Asian Tour at the Taiwan G&CC after gaining entry on a sponsor's invitation.

Joined the PGA Tour as a rookie in 2004 after sixth-place finish at 2003 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. Did not qualify for the 2004 Bank of America Colonial and took advantage of a return to the Nationwide Tour with a record 30-under-par 258 at the Henrico County Open in Glen Allen, VA. He broke the Tour mark by four strokes...Earlier in the year he won the Nationwide Tour's First Tee Arkansas Classic when he was ineligible for the PGA Tour's MCI Heritage.
Playing mostly on the PGA Tour in 2004 made huge leap up the Official World Golf Ranking list from 504th to 208th by season's end.
After six strong years on the PGA Tour between 2004 and 2010 had problems in 2011. With just three top-25s, he missed the PGA Tour Playoffs and finished outside the top 125 on the money list for the first time since 2004. He didn't do an entry into Q-School so found himself playing on the Nationwide Tour in 2011.

2012 Web.Com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 11; in money - 6; top-10 finishes - 0; stroke average 70.94 (ranked N/A); money $21,940 (ranked 154th); Best finish T-20th, Chiquita Classic. On the PGA Tour, finished the season 206th in the FedExCup standings, with just six made cuts in 21 starts. Best finish T-15th at The McGladrey Classic. Returned to PGA Tour Q-School and finished T-87th getting limited status on PGA Tour in 2013.

2016 Notes: Played in 15 events around the world with nine of them on the Asian Tour. Made the cut in six events, best finish T-27th at the Holden New Zealand PGA Championship on the Australian Tour.
2017 Notes: T-9th at the Leopalace21 Myanmar Open, T-8th at the Club Colombia Championship & T-9th at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open.
