Acknowledged the help and advice given to him by his wife, Natasha, a trained sports psychologist, as he claimed his second European Tour title in the 2003 Qatar Masters with a play-off victory over fellow South African James Kingston at Doha Golf Club. Two years earlier, he had made the most of his opportunity on The European Tour when he captured the 2001 Sao Paulo Brazil Open to earn a two-year exemption. Winner of the 1999/2000 Southern Africa Tour Order of Merit and partner to Retief Goosen in representing South Africa at that year's WGC World Cup. A poor season in 2005 saw him finish 145th on the Order of Merit, but he redeemed himself at the Qualifying School by winning the 19th card and had no such worries in 2006 after two early third-place finishes, in South Africa and Qatar, set him up for a solid season. Tragically lost his sister Debbie in a car crash on the eve of the 2001 Mercedes Benz - South African Open.
2012 Notes: Played in 24 European Tour events, making the cut in 12 with 2 top-ten finishes. Won the Saint Omer Open and was T-6th at the South Africa Open. Finished 84th in the Race to Dubai with euro295,708 in earnings.
2013 Notes: Played in 25 European Tour events, making 15 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Won the Africa Open and finished 2nd at the Tshwane Open and T-7th at the BMW International Open. Was 48th in the Race to Dubai with euro722,287 in earnings.
2014 Notes: Played in 29 European Tour events making 19 cuts with 4, top-ten finishes. Best was T-5th at the Africa Open and finished T-6th at the Tshwane Open. He was 52nd in the Race to Dubai with euro642,726 in earnings.
2015 Notes: Played in 27 European Tour events, making 14 cuts with 1 top-ten. Best was T-9th at the Open de Espana, he was 102nd in the Race to Dubai with euro271,797 in earnings. On the Sunshine Tour, won the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final and was 2nd on the order of merit.
2016 Notes: Played in 20 European Tour events making 9 cuts with 1 top-ten. Best was T-2nd at the BMW International Open, he was 93rd in the Race to Dubai with euro338,329 in earnings.
2017 Notes: Won the Joburg Open which got him a spot into the Open Championship.
2018 Notes: Won the Tour Championship on the South African Sunshine Tour. Also was T-2nd at the Sun Wild Coast Sun Challenge. On the DP Tour best finish T-7th at the BMW SA Open and 7th at the BMW PGA Championship.
2019 Notes: Only had one top ten for the year, T-7th at the Maybank Challenge
2020 Notes: Won twice in South Africa, Eye of Africa PGA Championship and Betway Championship. Played in six DP World Tour events, best finish T-11th at the Joburg Open and the South African Open.
2021 Notes: Best finish, T-2nd at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, he was a shot back of winner Antoine Rozner. Also was T-5th at the BMW International. Played in 13 DP World Tour events
2022 Notes: One top ten for the year, T-8th at the ISPS Handa Championship in Spain. Played in 29 events on the DP World Tour
2023 Notes: Won the Le Vaudreul Golf Challenge on the Challenge Tour.
2024 Notes: Played in 22 DP World Tour events, making 11 cuts with two top 10 finishes. Was 2nd at the Joburg Open, three shots back of winner Dean Burmester. On the South African Tour, his best finish was 2nd at the FBC Zim Open
2025 Notes: Was T-4th at the Investec South African Open Championship. Turns 50 a week before the Senior PGA Championship. In his first Senior tournament, he finished T-2nd at the OFX Irish Legends on the European Legends Tour.
