David Gossett

Introduced to the game of golf by his father at age seven and he competed in his first competitive tournament by the time he was 10.
Won the 1999 U.S. Amateur with the help of Andy Martinez who is Tom Lehman's regular caddy. Gossett met Martinez at the 1999 Federal Express St. Jude Classic in Memphis. Knowing he had the week off, Martinez asked Gossett if he knew anyone who needed a caddie for the U.S. Amateur (since Martinez lives in the San Francisco area). Once Gossett qualified, he called Martinez and the partnership was formed.
Along with the Amateur, Goosett also won the Big 12 Conference Championship and the Golf Digest Intercollegiate. He was a First-Team All-American, the NCAA Freshman of the Year, Big 12 Player of the Year, Big 12 Freshman of the Year and Big- 12 Student Athlete of the Year in 1999.
Also played on the Walker Cup team in 1999.
Turned professional in July 2000 during the weekend of the British Open. Played in the 2000 PGA Tour Qualifying tournament finishing T68th which got him fully exempt on the Web.Com Tour in 2001.

Made it onto the PGA Tour and his first victory came at the John Deere Classic in 2001 when he shot 19-under par (68-64-68-65=265) to win by one stroke. Lost his fully exempt status in 2004, and has had to split his playing time between the PGA Tour and the Web.Com Tour in recent years.

Gossett had not played in a PGA Tour event since withdrawing from the 2010 St. Jude Classic. Has spent the early part of the decade trying to get back on the PGA Tour through the Web.com Tour and the Adams Pro Tour. His best finish last season came at the Merrill Lynch Open (Adams Tour) where he placed 8th with rounds of 71-67-69.
Played in 11 events on the Web.com Tour in 2013 and has been playing Monday qualifiers so far in 2014 for the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour and Adams Mini-Tour.
David is married and has three little kids; a three year old, 15-month old and 5-month old which keep him busy outside of golf.
