David Law

n 2009 Law won two important match-play titles, the 2009 Scottish Amateur and the Scottish Boys Amateur Championship. He won the Scottish Amateur for the second time in 2011. Law was not selected for the 2011 Walker Cup at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club despite his win in the Scottish Amateur. Soon after the selection of the Walker Cup team, Law won the Northern Open, the first amateur to win the event since 1970.
Law turned professional in late 2011. He won the 2013 Sueno Dunes Classic on the Pro Golf Tour and finished fifth in the Order of Merit to earn a place on the Challenge Tour for 2014. Since 2014 he has played primarily on the Challenge Tour combined with some appearances on the Pro Golf Tour and the MENA Golf Tour. Law played in 113 Challenge Tour events making 66 cuts and having ten, top-ten finishes. He won a total of euro201,838 on that tour. He had limited success on the Challenge Tour until he won the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge at Macdonald Spey Valley in June 2018. He followed this by being runner-up in the Euram Bank Open in July and finished the season 14th in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit to earn a place on the European Tour for 2019.
2019 Notes: Played in 27 European Tour events making 13 cuts. He only had one top-ten and finished 92nd in the Race to Dubai. Law won his maiden European Tour title in February 2019, at the ISPS Handa Vic Open, a co-sanctioned event with the PGA Tour of Australasia. He won by a one-shot margin after entering the final three holes three strokes behind. Law birdied the 16th and eagled the final hole, this coupled with Wade Ormsby double bogeying his penultimate hole, led to Law claiming victory. It was his only to[ten finish of the year.
2020 Notes: Played in 22 European TOur events making 11 cuts. His best finish came in his last start of the season, T-25th at the South African Open. He finished 175th in the Race to Dubai.
2021 Notes: Played in 28 European Tour events making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Waas 100th in the Race to Dubai. Was T-7th at the Porschee European Open and T-4th at the Hero Open, four back of winner Grant Forrest.
2022 Notes: Was T-7th at the Ras Al haimah Championship. Shot a final round 67 at the Horizon Irish Open to finish T-4th, five shots back of winner Adrian Meronk. With his T-4th he claimed one of the three qualifying places for the 2022 Open Champiionship and will play in his first major in front of a home crowd.
