Dewi Claire Schreefel

Started playing golf at age 9. Credits her coach, Johnny Balvert, and college coaches Andrea Gaston and Chris Velde as the individuals who most influenced her career.
At the University of Southern California, was a member of the 2008 NCAA national championship team and was the 2006 NCAA individual champion. Named a three-time All-American selection and finished in the top-10 14 times, including winning three tournaments. Won the 2004 Italian Women's Amateur Championship and the Dutch Match Play Championship. As a junior player, she won the Dutch Stroke Play Championship five times (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004).
Turned professional in 2008. In 2009, competed on the Duramed Futures Tour, where she won the ING New England Golf Classic and finished in the top-10 four additional times. She finished 10th on the Duramed Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn membership for the 2010 LPGA season.
In 2010, finished fifth at LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Category 11 status in 2011. On the LET, played in seven events with a season-best finish T-5th at the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open. She finished 77th on the Money List with season earnings of ?21,573.00.
In 2011, best finish was a T-11 at the RICOH Women's British Open, which was her best finish in 10 LET events.
2012 Notes: Played 20 LPGA events, made 17 cuts and earned $153,777 (66th on the money list). Season-best finish was 13th at the Kingsmill Championship. On the LET, played in eight events and posted three top-10 finishes, including a career-best result of second at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, where she shot a new tournament record 63 (-9) during the third round at Emirates Golf Club. Season earnings: ?86,140.63 (24th on the money list).
2013 Notes: Made 17 cuts out of 23 events and finished 66th on the Tour money list. Recorded a career-best T-9 finish at the Safeway Classic. Tied a career-low round of 65 in the third round of the North Texas LPGA Shootout.
2014 Notes: She was 69th on the money list with $200,174 (she has been between 62nd and 69th in earnings all four of her full seasons on the LPGA Tour) and 69th in CME points. Her best finish was T-6th at North Texas. She made the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career on the 12th hole at Lake Merced CC in the Swinging Skirts Championship. The ace netted her $100,000 as part of a promotion by Chinatrust Bank. She won the LET?s Helsingborg Open in Sweden the week before the Evian Masters, with a seven-stroke win over Rebecca Artis. It was her first pro win since a Symetra Tour victory in 2009. She was 28th on the LET money list.
In 2015 her best finish is T-37th JTBC Founders Cup.
When she's not playing golf, Dewi likes to play field hockey and go sailing and rock climbing. She is the first Dutch player to qualify for the LPGA Tour. At the top of her bucket list would be a trip to Indonesia because she's part Indonesian and a hiking trip with her closest friends with nothing but their tents. Says if she could be on a TV show, she would choose either Survivor or Amazing Race. Was a sociology major at USC.
