Gordon Brand, Jr.

Captured his second Senior Tour title in 2013 with victory in the WINSTONgolf Senior Open, carding three straight rounds of 68 to prevail by one shot. That helped him to a 13th place finish in the Order of Merit. His best campaign was his rookie season in 2010 when he claimed his maiden Senior Tour title in spectacular style with a stunning victory in the 2010 Matrix Jersey Classic. Opening rounds of 63 and 66 brought back memories of his course record 62 at La Moye Golf Club on The European Tour 14 years previously when he carded a record four eagles in a round. His win set the tone for a remarkably consistent season in which he recorded seven top ten finishes, including runner up in both the Casa Serena Open and Cannes Mougins Masters, en route to fourth place in the Order of Merit. Had previously lost two play-offs on the Senior Tour, firstly on his debut in the 2008 De Vere Collection PGA Seniors Championship to namesake Gordon J Brand following an epic six extra holes, then to Carl Mason in the 2009 Benahavis Senior Masters presented by ISPS. The son of the professional at Bristol?s Knowle Golf Club, he won twice in his rookie year on The European Tour in 1982 to finish seventh on the Order of Merit that season. Played in The Ryder Cup in 1987 and 1989, in the process helping the European Team to become the first to win in America then retain the trophy on home soil. Recorded a total of eight European Tour victories, the last being a wire-to-wire triumph in the 1993 European Open at East Sussex National. Made a late return to form towards the end of 2000, finishing runner-up to Ian Poulter in the Italian Open in October on his way to finishing 51st on the Order of Merit. Spent a large part of 2001 away from golf nursing his wife Sheena through illness, but retained his playing privileges through the Career Money List. Reached the milestone of 500 events on The European Tour International Schedule during the 2002 PGA Championship, and by the end of 2007 he had contested 597 tournaments and is seventh on the all-time appearance list.
