Fully exempt into the 2012 Open Championship by being in the top-30 of the Race to Dubai in 2011.
Pushed Graeme McDowell all the way in the 2010 US Open Championship at Pebble Beach, finishing runner-up in an historic one-two for European players. Won the biggest title of his career when he defeated then World Number Three Phil Mickelson in a play-off for the 2007 Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, a victory that helped him break into the top 20 of the Order of Merit for the first, and so far only, time. Became the second Frenchman to win the title after Thomas Levet in 2004. Continued his love affair with Scotland in 2008 by capturing the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, then finished tied third at the same event in 2009. Took up golf at the age of ten after being encouraged by his father, a Parisian vet. Off the golf course, one of his more interesting activities was to play a game of football in a bull ring, accompanied by the bull, during a friend's bachelor party.
