Played on the PGA Tour in 1989, season wasn't very productive so he worked as a head professional at Forest Creek Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas, for three years before giving tour golf another shot. Won the 1992 Eastern, Western and Southern Texas PGA Section Championships.
Played full time on the PGA Tour 1989 and then between 1995 and 2008, in 355 events played won twice, was runner-up twice, third once and recorded 24 top-10 finishes. Had career earnings just under $7.5 million. Also has played on the Nationwide Tour, full time in 1997 and 2009, in 79 starts was runner-up three times, had 10 top-10 finishes and earnings of $212,590.
Made 12 starts on the Champions Tour after turning 50 in July of 2010 with two top-10 finishes. Finished 60th on the money list which got him no exemption for 2011, so attended the 2010 Champions Tour National Qualifying Tournament at the TPC Eagle Trace and finished 11th after a seven-hole playoff with Steve Haskins, who made birdie on the seventh hole to claim the 10th spot.
Wife, Dawn, was a gymnast at the University of Texas. Has an interest in writing, specifically about golf instruction, for which he has penned more than 1,000 tips. Published a book, the pocket pro edition of Golf Tips from the Tour
In 2011 equaled his career-best finish on the Champions Tour when he was T6th at the SAS Championship. Was two-strokes off the first-round lead and final-round 70 at Prestonwood moved him up.
