Jeunghun Wang

Wang lived in the Philippines for six years when he was a junior golfer, as it was cheaper for his golf career. His close affinity with the country has seen him do well in all Asian Tour events staged in the Philippines since 2013.
2013 Notes: Played in 16 Asian Tour events after finishing 21st at the Asian Tour qualifying school. The first top 10 of his career was a 4th-place finish at the Solaire Open in the Philippines. Shot a third-round 70 and a final-round 69 to move up the leaderboard. His only other top-25 was a T-12th, also in the Philippines, at the Resorts World Manila Masters. Stumbled with a 74 in the second round, but pieced together an opening 67 and a 68-68 weekend. His best finish on the Korean Tour was a T-52nd at the Gunsan Country Club Open. After an opening-round 70, they shot three consecutive 73s.
2014 Notes: At the PGA Tour China Series f qualifying tournament in Haikou in mid-March, he used a third-round 67 that followed a 77 the previous day to catapult himself into a fully exempt slot in the Series f inaugural season. Finished T-4th, six shots behind medalist Alex Hawley. Made history by winning the first PGA Tour China Series event, the Mission Hills Haikou Open. He was completely dominant all week, taking a share of the lead after 18 holes. Followed an opening 67 with a Mission Hills GC fs Sand-belt Trails course-record 63 to move ahead by eight shots through 36 holes. With a weekend 69-66, they finished at 23-under in coasting to a 10-shot victory over China's Xinjun Zhang. He made only six bogeys all week in winning his first professional tournament. Played in 6 events that year with three top-10 finishes. On the Asian Tour, Wang enjoyed a stellar season in 2014 where he didn't miss a single cut in 16 Asian Tour events. He came close to winning the Dubai Open before settling for 2nd, which was his best result on the Tour. Led by one with one hole to play on the last day but dropped a double bogey to lose to Arjun Atwal. Also contended in the Resorts World Manila Masters.
2015 Notes: Finished 17th on the final Order of Merit on the PGA Tour China tour, with a pair of runner-up finishes in his only two starts. A year after dominating Mission Hills GC Sandbelt Trails Course on his way to a 10-shot victory, he returned to Haikou to play at the Buick Open. Strung together rounds of 71- 71-69-70 to finish at seven-under and in solo 2nd, a stroke behind champion Josh Geary. He was the only player in the field with four under-par rounds for the week. At the OneAsia Tour fs SK Telecom Open in late May, finished T-3rd with Gareth Paddison, Dimitrios Papadatos, Kyungtae Kim, and Jaebum Park, two shots behind winner Jinho Choi. Moved into contention with a day's best, nine-under 63 at Sky 72 GC. Faced heartbreak at the Lanhai Open in late May, again falling by a shot to Geary. Held a share of the 18-hole lead and led outright after 36 and 54 holes. Trailed
Geary by a stroke with a hole to play and was on the 18th-hole, par-4 green in two at Lanhai International GC. After he missed his 25-foot birdie putt, leaving himself a four-footer for par, Geary left the door open for a playoff when the New Zealander lipped out his nine-foot par putt. With a chance to force overtime, he missed his par putt, giving Geary his second campaign win. Earned 129,600 for the second consecutive time and moved into second on the Order of Merit, a little less than 1 0,000 ahead of Shih Chang Chan. Contended all week at the OneAsia Tourf sThailandOpeninmid-June.Shotroundsof69-70-64-67 but still fell three strokes short of the winner, countryman K.T. Kim, at Siam CC Pattaya Plantation Course. The finish was his third runner-up performance of the campaign. Shot a final-round 70 at Kolon Korea Open in mid-September to T-3rd with Dongmin Lee, seven shots behind winner Kyounghoon Lee. Took the first-round lead at the Asian Tour's Venetian Macau Open in mid-October. Fired an opening 65 at Macau G&CC to share the top spot with Bangladesh's Siddikur Rahman. He was in second through 36 holes before a 71-73 (two-over) weekend dropped him into a T-15th with David Lipsky. On the Asian Tour, he capped two top-5 results to finish 9th on the Order of Merit. He finished one rung from qualifying for the 2016 EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM but was selected as a Captain fs pick to represent Team Asia. He contributed half a point in his debut in the team match-play event. Known as one of the best ball strikers in Asia.
2016 Notes: Wang completed back-to-back victories with a come-from-behind, one-shot triumph at the AfrAsia Bank Mauri- tius Open, a week after his breakthrough victory in Morocco. He became the youngest player at 20 years and 263 days to win consecutive events on the European Tour. His win at the Trophee Hassan came by defeating Nacho Elvira in a playoff. Victory at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam layout came in dramatic fashion, as he birdied the par-5 18th hole thrice Sunday by making nearly 90 feet of putts. After Elvira finished regulation at five-under 283, he forced a playoff by holing an 18-foot putt at the final hole. Elvira appeared in control on the first playoff hole when he reached the par-5 18th in two but watched as his competitor rolled in a dramatic 50-foot birdie putt to set the stage for a second playoff hole. Playing the 18th again, his putting mastery continued, rolling in a 20-footer for the victory. He got his European season rolling with a 2nd-place result at the Hero Indian Open in March. He added another runner-up finish at the Final Series Ned- bank Golf Challenge. The next week, he finished T-17th at the DP World Tour Dubai as he finished 16th in the Race to Dubal and won the Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year title. On the Asian Tour was 3rd on the Order of Merit.
2017 Notes: Won his third European Tour title after defeating Joakim Lagergren and Jaco Van Zyl in a playoff at the 2017 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. He began the day with a three-shot lead but was caught on the back nine before retaking the top spot on his own with a birdie at the 16th hole. A bogey at the next dropped him into the playoff at 16-under, but after taking a brave line over the back of the green on the first visit back up the 18th, he got up and down for a winning birdie. The win for Wang came in his 29th European Tour event, and at 21 years and 144 days old, he became the third-youngest player to win three events after Matteo Manassero and Seve Ballesteros. The win secured the 39th spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, and when he could stay in the top 50 (47th) after the WGC-Dell Match Play, he got an invitation to play in the Masters. He missed the cut at the Masters, but since then, he had one top-ten, T-8th at the Nordea Masters.
2018 Notes: He played in 26 DP World Tour events, making 16 cuts and two top-ten finishes. He placed 92nd in the Race to Dubai and earned euro399,110. His best finish was T-6th at the Dubai Desert Classic.
2019 Notes: He played in 31 DP World Tour events, making 11 cuts and three top-ten finishes. He placed 82nd in the Race to Dubai and earned euro366,134. Best finishes T-6th at the Portugal Masters and T-5th at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
2020 Notes: He played in 7 DP World Tour events, making 4 cuts. He placed 155th in the Race to Dubai and earned euro 131,794. His best finish was T-14th at the Scottish Open.
2021 Notes: Because of COVID-19, he didn't play in any events.
2022 Notes: Played in six events on the Australian and Asian Tour, best finish T-5th at the International Series Korea and T-3rd at the International Series Egypt.
2023 Notes: He returned to full-time status on the DP World Tour and played in 26 events, making 10 cuts and two top-ten finishes. He placed 119th in the Race to Dubai and earned euro313,374. Best finish T-3rd at the Singapore Classic
2024 Notes: Played on the DP World Tour and Asian Tour. He was 2nd at the IRS Prima Malaysian Open and was two shots back of winner David Puig. Missed the cut at the International Series Macau, T-57th at the Saui Opne, and 18th at the International Series Morocco.
