Jimmy Heggarty

Recorded his best Senior Tour finish when he was runner up behind Mike Cunning in the first event of the 2009 season, the Aberdeen Brunei Senior Masters presented by The Stapleford Forum. Won the European Senior Tour Qualifying School to gain his card, finishing ahead of Bertus Smit after a card play-off. The highlight of his 2008 season was tied 14th at the Weston Homes PGA International Seniors. In 2007 he recorded two sixth place finishes in swift succession, first at the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open and then at The Midas English Seniors Open. Gained a conditional card by finishing ninth at the 2005 Seniors Tour Qualifying School, and took his place amongst the Seniors after turning 50. Finished tied 15th in his first event, which took place in his home country of Ireland, and went on to claim 34th spot on the Order of Merit after finishing the season strongly with top tens in Spain and at the year-ending Arcapita Seniors Tour Championship in Bahrain. Kept his card on The European Tour for 15 consecutive years from 1976 to 1991 with a career high of 49th on the 1981 Order of Merit, and a best tournament performance of tied second in the 1989 Credit Lyonnais Cannes Open.
