Joel Edwards

Competed on the PGA Tour between 1989 and 2004. Had back surgery in January 1998, which kept him off the Tour for most of that year. Played in 393 events, making the cut 194 times. Had 19 top-10 finishes, including a win at the 2001 Air Canada Championship. Was runner-up at the 1992 British Columbia Open and tied for third in the 2000 Shell Houston Open. His best year on tour was in 2001, when he finished 46th on the money list with earnings of $1.19 million. In 14 complete seasons on the PGA Tour, he finished the year ranked in the top 125 five times (1993, 1996, 2000, 2001 and 2002).
Played on the Nationwide Tour in 1992, 1999, 2005 and 2006, and in 103 starts made the cut 54 times. Had 11 top-10 finishes with one third place, three runners-up and one win at the 1999 Mississippi Gulf Coast Classic, which was his biggest year on any tour as he finished second on the money list with earnings of $213,937. In preparation for the Champions Tour, he played 14 Web.com tour events in 2011, making the cut in six tournaments, with a best finish of T-39th in the Stadion Classic at the University of Georgia.
2012 Notes: Open-qualified for the 3M Championship and, in his 11th career Champions Tour start, had his first top-five performance, a fifth-place finish. Was on the leader board throughout the tournament and shot a final-round 67. Was also T-12 at the 2012 Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores.
2013 Notes: Appeared in 16 events, with one top-10 finish and six top-25 performances. Birdied the final three holes to shoot 6-under 66 Sunday, the low round of the day, and finished T-7 at The Principal Charity Classic, his best finish of the year. Was 54th on the money list.
2014 Notes: Made nine starts, open-qualifying six times. Best effort was a T-34th at the 3M Championship. He finished 116th on the money list. Secured conditional status for 2015 by placing eighth at Champions Tour Qualifying School - he was tied with Jeff Freeman after 72 holes, but secured the eighth position with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
2015 Notes: Only played in 7 events, best finish was T-22nd at the Senior PGA Championship.
