John Jacobs

Grew up on a golf course as a child as his father was director of parks and recreation for the city of Los Angeles. Was assisted in the development of his game by his brother, Tommy, a four-time winner on the PGA Tour. His dream foursome would include his brother, Arnold Palmer and Walter Hagen, with maybe Ben Hogan thrown in to offset Hagen. Enjoys horse racing and says if he could have one job outside of golf it would be having the opportunity to call a race at a track.
Had a limited career on the PGA Tour only playing full-time from 1969-1977. Played in a total of 199 events, making 98 cuts. Never won, was runner-up three times, had 10 top-10 finishes.
Has played on the Champions Tour since 1995 and going into 2013 played in 426 events with 171 top-10 finishes. Has earned $8.7 million. Captured the 2003 Senior PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. Was in the top-30 of the money list between 1996 and 2003. Has slowed down his participation, hasn't played a full schedule since 2007.
2011 Notes: Made just nine starts during the campaign, with his best finish a T30th at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf with partner Fuzzy Zoeller.
2012 Notes: Appeared in 10 events during the year, with his best showing a T30th with partner Fuzzy Zoeller at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf.
2013 Notes: Appeared in six events, best showing was T29th with partner Fuzzy Zoeller at the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf.
2014 Notes: Made four starts, best was T-28th with partner Fuzzy Zoeller at the Big Cedar Lodge Legends.
2015 Notes: Made five starts, best was T-31st at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf playing with Fuzzy Zoeller.
2016 Notes: Played in 3 events, best finish T-34th at the Bass Pro Shops Legends partnered with Fuzzy Zoeller. Has not played on the PGA Tour Champions since.
