A college star at Michigan, who captured the 1980 Big Ten Championship. Played on the Australasian Tour from 1989 to 1992. Won 1990 Monro Interiors Nedlands Masters and Australian Open. Finished second on the Australasia Order of Merit, winning 274,284 Australian dollars. Best finishes in 1991 was ninth in Pyramid Australian Masters and third in AMP New Zealand Open.
The birth of daughter Christina in 1993 led him to decide to play on the Nationwide Tour. Played on the Nationwide Tour in 1993 and between 2001 and 2007. In 149 starts won once at the 1993 New England Classic. Recorded 15 top-10 finishes and had career earnings of $333,272. Earned a spot on the PGA Tour in 1994 with his fifth-place finish on the 1993 Nationwide Tour money list.
Played full-time on the PGA Tour from 1994 to 1998, in 173 events won the Hawaiian Open in 1995, was runner-up in the 1995 Buick Challenge, losing a playoff and was third at the 1995 Texas Open. In his career had eight top-10 finishes and earnings of $1.3 million.
