John Parry

Started playing golf at age 7 and was introduced to the game by his family. He became fixed right away. The 2015 U.S. Open will be his second appearance in the championship, having finished T-28th in 2013 at Merion. He enjoys football and cars.
Amateur highlights include receiving the 2004 Peter McEvoy Trophy, winning the Spanish and Welsh Amateur titles in 2007, and the Danish Amateur and the Under 21 Faldo Junior Series in 2005. He also represented Great Britain and Ireland at the 2007 Walker Cup. His 2006 Faldo Series International Trophy win in Hong Kong was another highlight. His first professional title came at the 2008 Ladbrokes Masters on the Europro Tour, and he went on to finish 10th on the Order of Merit. Stepped up to The European Tour after finishing 14th in the 2009 Challenge Tour Rankings, helped by victory in the Allianz Golf Open Grand Toulouse, where he shot 63 on the final day to win by two from José-Filipe Lima. Also left it late in 2010, when he was right on the cusp of the top 115 heading toward the tail end of the season but ensured he kept his card in his maiden season with victory in the Vivendi Cup in Paris. That made up for the previous week when he led going into the final round of the Austrian GolfOpen, only to finish tied 20th. Two weeks after his win he led at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and finished 3rd en route to ending the season 51st in The Race to Dubai.
Lost his card in 2011 after finishing 126th in The Race to Dubai and had limited success on the Challenge Tour in 2012 before finding winning at PGA Catalunya Resort. Won the 2012 European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage by four shots with a 19 under par total. In 2013, he finished 77th in the Race to Dubai. Regained his playing rights with a solid performance at the 2014 Qualifying School.
2015 Notes: Played in 26 European Tour events making 16 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Was 92nd in the Race to Dubai winning euro 301,681. finished T-5th at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and T-6th at Africa Open. Ended his season missing the cut at the British Masters.
2016 Notes: Played in 22 European Tour events making 8 cuts. Was 177th in the Race to Dubai winning euro61,125. Best finish, T-28th at the British Masters.
2017 Notes: Played in 17 European Tour events making three cuts. Was 226th in the Race to Dubai, lost his tour card. Best finish T-19th at the Made in Denmark. Played in 9 Challenge Tour events, best finish T-45th at the Galgorm Resort & Spa Northern Ireland Open.
2018 Notes: Played in 8 Challenge Tour events, best finish T-34th at the Andalucia - Costa del Sol Match Play 9.
2019 Notes: Played in nine PGA EuroPro Tour events, had four top-ten finishes. Best T-2nd at the MacDonald Hill Valley Hotel, one shot back of winnner Todd Clements. Was T-3rd at the Penta Hotels Championship, a shot back of the Sean Towndrow/Bradley Moore playoff. Was T-4th at the Newmachar Golf Club Challenge, three shots back of winner Jack McDonald. Finished 15th on the Order of Merit. Because of COVID-19 didn't play on any tour in 2020.
2021 Notes: Played in 15 PGA EuroPro Tour events making 13 cuts with six top-ten finish. Won the Cumberwell Park Championship by three shots. Was T-4th at the PDC Dhampionship, three shots back of winner Jack Hawksby. Finished 5th on the Order of Merit winning pounds23,143.
