Started playing golf at the age of 12. Credits her parents as the individuals most influencing her career. Hobbies include going to good restaurants, mountain climbing, listening to music, and playing billiards. Qualified for the Tour by finishing third on the 2005 Futures Tour season-ending money list.
In 2001, joined the KLPGA and won the Korea Women's Open.
In 2002, competed on the KLPGA, where she won the LG Lady Card Open.
In 2004, joined the Futures Tour and recorded seven top-10 finishes.
In 2005, played on the Futures Tour, where she won two events, the IOS FUTURES Golf Classic and the Laconia Savings Bank Futures Golf Classic, and recorded 10 additional top-10 finishes; finished third on the 2005 Futures Tour season-ending money list to earn exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season; also competed on the Korea LPGA (KLPGA) Tour and won the Shinsegye Cup KLPGA Championship.
In 2006, recorded a career-best tie for second at the Sybase Classic presented by Lincoln Mercury.
In 2007, best finish was a tie for third at the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta Presented by Televisa Deportes.
In 2008, best finish was a tie for seventh at the LPGA State Farm Classic, where she carded all four rounds in the 60s.
In 2009, best finish was a fourth-place showing at the McDonald's LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola; crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at the U.S. Women's Open, where she tied for ninth; carded a career-low 64 in the second round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic Presented by Kroger, where she tied for 25th. 
In 2010, best finish was a tie for 11th at the CN Canadian Women's Open.
In 2011, best finish was a tie for ninth at the Sybase Match Play Championship.
