Lee Slattery

Enjoyed a welcome return to form in the late summer of 2015, winning the M2M Russian Open and then finishing second at the KLM Open the following week. Led by two shots going into the final round in Russia and won by one, largely thanks to a wonderful chip-in for a birdie-2 on the 17th, to regain his full playing rights having finished 111th in the Race to Dubai in 2014, one spot away from safety. Shared the lead on the final day in the Netherlands and looked likely to win back-to-back titles, until he missed a short par putt on the last hole, which would have put him in a playoff with Thomas Pieters. Looked destined for big things when he won the Challenge Tour Rankings in 2004, not long after he was working in a High Street clothes shop, having had to take a break from golf due to glandular fever. Spent the next few seasons between the European Tour and the Challenge Tour, however, with agonizing near-miss in 2007, when he was one place and just euro77 shy of retaining his playing privileges. Finally made his long-awaited breakthrough at the 2011 Madrid Masters, where despite a double-bogey finish he won by one stroke over Lorenzo Gagli.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 European Tour events making 17 cuts with two top-10s. Was T-4th at the Qatar Masters and 4th at the Shenzhen International. Finished 80th in the Race to Dubai earning euro422,737.
2017 Notes: Played in 27 European Tour events making 16 cuts with three top-10 finishes. Best was 2nd at the D+D Real Czech Masters, he was 2 shots back of winner Haydn Porteous. Also T-6th at the Omega European Masters 5 shots back of the Fitzpatrick/Hend playoff. Was 77th in the Race to Dubai with euro541,237.
2018 Notes: Played in 27 European Tour events making 16 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Best was 3rd at the Italian Open, 2 shots back of winner Thorbjorn Olesen. Also, T-4th a the D+D Real Czech Masters and T-10th at the Nordea Masters.
2019 Notes: Best finish T-11th at the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open.
