Lorie Kane

Started playing golf at the age of 5. Kane represented her country several times as a member of the Canadian International Team from 1989-92, a member of the Canadian Commonwealth Team in 1991 and a member of the 1992 Canadian Women's World Amateur Team. She also was the Mexican Amateur champion in 1991.
In 1993, she turned professional and competed on the Central Florida Challenge Tour and the du Maurier Ltd. Series in Canada. She was the du Maurier Ltd. Series champion in 1994-95 and a Series event winner from 1993-95.
In 1995, she was T-48th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 1996 LPGA season. Kane played full-time on the LPGA Tour between 1996 and 2015, and still plays in a limited number of events including those in Canada. Kane has played in 445 events making 327 cuts. She has 99 top-10 finishes (22% of her starts) and won four times. Between 1998 and 2005 she had eight straight years of earning $500,000 or more each of those years. She had her two best years were 2000 and 2001; in 2000 she won 3 times (Michelob Light Classic, New Albany Golf Classic & Mizuno Classic), was runner-up once at the Australian Ladies Masters and in the top-five 11 times. The next year she won once at the LPGA Takefuji Classic, was runner-up twice and had 9 top-five finishes. She earned $947,452 which placed 4th on the money list. In her career, she won $6,953,047 which is 34th on the all-time career money list on the LPGA Tour. She has been suffering from hip discomfort the last couple of years. Kane still has LPGA Tour membership as a past champion but that lower-level status limits her tournament appearances.
In 2006, she was presented with the Order of Canada, the nation's highest honor. Sorie is affiliated with the Lorie Kane Charity Golf Classic (www.loriekanegolfclassic.com), which benefits Prince Edward Island charities. Earlier in 2018, Lorie was named ambassador of golf for the Mill River Resort on Prince Edward Island.
Kane plays on the Legend Tour and has won fo4 times: 2011 Wendy's Charity Challenge; 2013 Legends Championship; 2016 Chico's Patty Berg Memorial, Self-Regional Women's Healthcare Classic. Playing in the 2017 Senior LPGA Championship, Kane was 8th. She finished T-55th in the 2018 Senior LPGA Championship.

Lorie shot 76-74-81-74=305 (+13) to finish T-23rd in the first U.S. Senior Women's Open.
