Played in the U.S. Open in 2003 and 2006 but missed the cut both times.
Plays full-time on the European Tour. Tied for second at the 2005 Barclays Scottish Open, earning ?308,708. Has one win to date -- the 2003 Dutch Open -- when he became the first Dutch player since Joob Ruhl in 1947 to win the event. Won the Dutch, Spanish and Swiss Amateur championships before turning pro. Earned his card at the 1997 European Tour Qualifying School, but lost it after just one year. Won the Tusker Kenya Open on the Challenge Tour in 1999. Earned his European Tour Card again with strong play on the Challenge Tour in 1999 and has been a European Tour player since. The Dutch Open in 2003 is his only European Tour victory to date. Sold shares in himself to a group of businessmen to finance his European Tour expenses in 1998 and was able to repay them with a profit of 85 percent per share in 2004.
