Marcus Armitage

It was his dad that got him into golf. He grew up on a farm and when he was young would practice with his clubs. When his mother died golf became an escape for him and he played a lot after that.
Armitage earned rookie of the year honors on the 2013 PGA EuroPro Tour. He also won on tour as part of fourteen total victories for the year. Over the 2014 season, Armitage reworked his swing. Armitage won twice on the 2015 PGA EuroPro Tour, finished fourth in the money list, and earned his tour card for the 2016 Challenge Tour.
Armitage won the 2016 Foshan Open on the Challenge Tour. He was also a runner-up in the Irish Challenge and finished 11th in the Order of Merit to earn his tour card for the 2017 European Tour.
Armitage had a disappointing season in 2017 and lost his card on the main tour.
2017 Notes: Played in 26 European Tour events making 11 cuts with one top-ten, T-10th at the Open de Portugal.
2018 Notes: Played in 19 European Challenge Tour events making 13 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 52nd in the Order of Merit with Euro40,443. Best finish T-2nd at the Belt & Road Colorful Yunnan Open 2018. Also played in ten European Tour events making five cuts with one top-ten, 5th at the Joburg Open.
2019 Notes: Played in 18 European Challenge Tour events making 8 cuts with one top-ten finish. Was 85th in the Order of Merit with Euro14,890. Best finish T-6th at the Andalucia - Costa del Sol Match Play 9.
2020 Notes: Played in 23 European Tour events making 18 cuts with five top-ten finishes. Was 57th in the Race to Dubai, earning Euro339,825. Best finish 3rd at the South African Open.
2021 Notes: Played in 25 European Tour events making 19 cuts with five top-ten finishes. Was 42dn in the Race to Dubai, earning euro609,629. Was T-4th at the Austrian Open, then won his first European Tour title at the Porsche European Open shooting 65 in the final round for a two-shot win over four players.
Made headlines early in his European Tour career when, at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, he was photographed asking Tiger Woods for an autograph on the driving range, while he also requested several selfies with other heroes such as Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose. Was T-8th at the Made in Himmerland and T-7th at the Omega European Masters. Ended his year with a T-16th finish at the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.
2022 Notes: T-9th at the Ras Al Khaimah Classic and T-5th at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, three shots back of winner Ewen Ferguson.
