Mark Mouland

Claimed his maiden European Senior Tour victory and his first win in 23 years after he came from four shots behind to snatch the Belas Clube de Campo Senior Open de Portugal title with a four under par closing round of 68. Ended his rookie season with three consecutive top ten finishes to end the year in 14th position on the Order of Merit. Son of professional Sid Mouland - who was Welsh champion six times - he made an early impression as an amateur, winning the British Boys Championship. Needed four visits to the Qualifying School Finals before establishing himself on The European Tour, breaking through in 1986 by capturing the Car Care Plan International. Later that year he was involved in a horrific head-on motorway crash in which he broke both ankles and feet. He recovered to record his highest ranking on the Volvo Order of Merit in 1987 and collected a second Tour win in the KLM Dutch Open in 1988. Lost his Tour card at the end of 1999 but regained his playing rights for 2001 after gaining 26th card at the Qualifying School and made sure he didn't require a return visit by finishing fifth in the Smurfit European Open. Made his European Senior Tour debut at the 2011 US Senior PGA Championship having turned 50 a month before.
