Mike Springer

Born in San Francisco, California, Spring attended the University of Arizona. He turned professional in 1988 and played in the first year (1990) of the Ben Hogan Tour, today's Web.Com Tour. He is the topic of a great trivia question since he won the first event on the Web.Com Tour. He won three times on that tour in 1990 and was 4th on the money list ($82,906), which earned him a PGA Tour card. With that break he played on the PGA Tour full time between 1991 and 2004. In his career, he played in 342 events and won twice during his best year on tour in 1994. With his 1994 wins at Greensboro and Milwaukee, he finished 13th on the money list with $770,717. That would be the last time he was in the top-100 of the money list, he always was struggling to keep his PGA Tour card after 1998. Along with his two wins, he was runner-up once and finished 3rd, four times. He was in the top-10 22 times and made 156 cuts earning just a notch under $2.6 million. On the Web.Com Tour he played a total of 90 events with four wins, 12 top-tens while make just 29 cuts. He earned a total of $224,244 and played his last Web.Com Tour event in 2014, missing the cut in the Stonebrae Classic just down the road from his Fresno, Ca. home. His last PGA Tour start came in the 2006 Valero Texas Open.
Springer attended Champions Tour Q-School at the end of 2015 but finished T-79th. Thanks to his two PGA Tour wins he was able to play in the first five Champions Tour events of 2016: Allianz Championship (T80th), Chubb Classic (T-76th), Tucson Conquistadores (T-71st), Mississippi Gulf Rest (T-53rd) and the Mitsubishi Electric (T-72nd)
