Nico Echavarria

His father and grandfather started taking him to the golf course when he was age two. Has two older brothers, Andres and Miguel. Andres, a professional golfer since 2011, is a two-time PGA Tour Latinoamerica winner and has also been a Korn Ferry Tour member. Andres competed at the University of Florida. Miguel played golf for the University of Michigan.
Echavarría attended the University of Arkansas from 2013 to 2017. He also represented Colombia in the Eisenhower Trophy in 2016. Echavarría turned professional in 2017. He won twice during the 2018 PGA Tour Latinoamérica season, finishing second in the Order of Merit, gaining a card for the 2019 Korn Ferry Tour season.
2019 Notes: Finished the season at 75th on the Regular Season points list. Recorded two top-10s in 25 starts, including a 3rd at the Evans Scholars Invitational. Finished 88th in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Saw action in two PGA Tour Latinoamerica events, made two cuts, and recorded one top-10 to finish, T-4th at the Diners Club Peru Open. Was 89th on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica Order of Merit.
2020/21 Notes: Played in 41 Korn Ferry Tour events making 22 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Was 81st on the money list with earnings of $133,949. Was T-5th at the 2021 Veritex Bank Championship and T-5th at the 2021 Live and Work In Maine.
2022 Notes: Played in 24 Korn Ferry Tour events making 17 cuts with six top-ten finishes. Earned his first PGA Tour card, solidifying it with a T-5th at the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship to finish 20th on the Korn Ferry Tour Finals Eligibility Points List. Recorded five other top-10s and finished 41st on the Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season Eligibility Points List to gain entry to Finals. Joined Camilo Villegas (2005) and Sebastian Munoz (2016, 2018) as the only Colombians in history to earn a PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour.
2023 Notes: WIth rounds of 67-67-65-68 won the Puerto Rico Open by two shots over Akshay Bhatia. It came in his 11th PGA Tour start.
