Olafia Kristinsdottir

She began playing golf at age 9, and calls college teammate Cheyenne Woods the biggest influence on her career. Is the first player from Iceland to play on the LPGA Tour.
Olafia had a successful amateur career before turning professional in September 2014. She was the Icelandic Champion in 2011 and 2014 and won the Icelandic golfer of the year in 2014. Olafia finished T-13th at the 2014 Open Generali de Strasbourg, her first appearance as a professional.
She got engaged to Thomas Bojanowski in December 2015. They met at Wake Forest, where she played golf and he ran track. He lives in Germany and runs a company that helps find student-athletes scholarships in America.
2016 Notes: Played in 7 events on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and finished 96th on the Order of Merit. Her best finish was T-16th at the Tipsport Golf Masters. Finished second at the 2016 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 12 status for the 2017 LPGA Tour season. On Dec. 15, 2016, she had double jaw surgery to correct an underbite. The multi-hour operation involved adding titanium plates to her nose and screws to her jaw. She wrote a blog, where she shared tips from her recovery, including putting a plate under your chin when you're eating soup because only about 50% is gonna make it through the first day, and how to use a rolling chair to make trips to the bathroom, and the best foods for a liquid diet.
2017 Notes: Played in 26 LPGA events and made 15 cuts. Had one top-ten, 4th at the Indy Women in Tech Championship. She was 74th on the money list with $219,134 in earnings. She played in 3 LET events, best finish was T-13th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. At the end of the year was honored in her home country as Iceland's 2017 Sportsperson of the Year, the 7th woman, and the first golfer to be so honored in the 61-year history of the award.
2018 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA Tour events making 6 cuts. Best finish was T-26th at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA, she only earned $37,207 to rank 128th on the money list and lose her tour card.
Played four times on the LET, best finish T-11th at the LaCoste Ladies Open de France.
2019 Notes: Playing on the Symetra Tour. Has made three cuts in her first six events. Best finish was T-45th at the IOA Invitational.
