P.H. Horgan III

Got started in the game, thanks to his grandfather. Has been involved with his brother, Harry, in the "Shake-A-Leg" Charity Golf Classic, which helps raise money to assist people with disabilities. His brother is a paraplegic due to injuries suffered in a car accident. Originally enrolled at the University of Rhode Island to play football and was a member of the football squad for two years before turning to golf.
A member of the PGA Tour from 1989 to 1994 and 1997-2000, he played in 276 events, made the cut 122 times and had 13 top 10 finishes. His best finish was T-5th at the 1989 Zurich Classic, fifth at the 1997 Air Canada Championship and the 1998 Viking Classic. Posted the best single-season earnings total of his 10 years on the PGA Tour in 1999, with $265,956. He has won $1.2 million on the PGA Tour.
Was a three-time winner on the Nationwide Tour, including the 1996 Alabama Classic, one of nine top-10 finishes on the Nationwide Tour that year. Lost an opportunity for a second win that year when he disqualified himself prior to a playoff with Tim Loustalot at the Shreveport Open for an infraction that occurred the previous day. Finished No. 7 on the final money list with $120,760. In his first year on the Nationwide Tour in 1991, he won his first start at the Yuma Open by two strokes over Olin Browne and Steve Lowery. Later in the season, he added a one-stroke victory at the Macon Open on his way to a third-place finish on the money list to earn PGA Tour membership for 1992. Made 124 Nationwide Tour starts, including 55 cuts and 20 top-10 finishes.
2011 Notes: Made three starts during the year. Was T-44th at the Toshiba Classic, T-57th at the Senior PGA Championship and missed the cut at the Senior British Open at Walton Heath. Secured exempt status through the 2012 reorder by claiming the fifth and final exempt spot at the Champions Tour Qualifying School. Made a key birdie on No. 17 in his final round, giving him a one-stroke cushion over three players.
2012 Notes: Played in 16 events with no top 10s, best finish was T-16th at the Encompass Insurance Pro-Am. At the end of the year, he returned to PGA Tour Champions Qualifying School and did not earn his card finishing T-19th. Did not play on the Tour in 2013 other than going to Qualifying School, finishing T-31st.
2014 Notes: Monday-qualified to get into four of his five Tour starts. Best finish was T-39th at the Senior PGA Championship, an event he didn't have to qualify for. At the end of the year, he returned to Qualifying School, finishing T-21st, so he has no privilege in 2015.
2015 Notes: Played in seven events, best finish was T-7th at the 3M Championship were he qualified on Tuesday and shot three rounds in the 60s. Went to Q-School and finished T-30th.
2016 Notes: Only played in five PGA Tour Champions events, best finish T-24th at the Allianz Championship. Was 113th on both the Schwab ranking and money list. Returned to Q-School and was T-36th.
2017 Notes: Only played twice on the Champions Tour, T-73rd at the Chubb Classic and T-47th U.S. Senior Open.
2018 Notes: Only played twice, T-59th Rapiscan System and 64th Boca Raton Championship.
