Patrick Burke

Started playing the game of golf around the time he could start walking and credits his grandfather for introducing him, as well as the rest of his family, to the sport. Says his most memorable golf experience was winning the 1994 Optus Players Championship on the Australasian Tour. Cites his time playing in Australia as the highlight of his career. Made a remarkable comeback as he quit playing in 2001 due to injuries and health issues. Tore a tendon in his right wrist and suffered from chronic migraines. Married to Jody, and has a daughter named Jaime. Both his mother and father were PGA professionals and his older brother, Mike, was a National Club Pro Champion in 1998. Has 13 career hole-in-ones, including two that came on par-4s. Enjoys teaching the game and working with junior golfers along with attending his daughters concerts and performances.
Played on the Australian Tour in 1987 and 1988. Qaulified for the PGA Tour in 1990 and 1992-1997. Made 76 cuts out of 151 events and had five top-10s. Burke's best finish was a T-3rd in the 1996 B.C. Open. He earned a total of $720,584 and his best year was in 1996 when he finished 79th on the money list with $265,083 in earnings.
Currently is the teaching professional at Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club in Coto de Caza, Calif. and is directing instruction at Get A Grip Foundation, which is based at Hidden Valley Golf Club in Norco. The nonprofit organization instills the importance of education among Inland Empire youths, while teaching golf and the life skills associated with the sport. Played golf in college and was a second-team All-American in 1985 and an Academic All-American in 1986. Made it to the second round of the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 1985 and '86 and competed in the 1992 U.S. Open. Along with winning the Optus Players, Burke also captured the 1994 Victoria Open. He was a runner-up in the 2000 Albertson's Boise Open on the Buy.com Tour. Hasn't played in a tournament since 2001 other than qualifying schools. Made it to the Champions Tour finals in 2011 and '12 without getting his Championship Tour card. Made it to the European Senior Tour Finals this year, 2014.
