Peter O'Malley

One of the most respected and long-serving Members of The European Tour, he is also one of the most consistent performers, 2008 representing the 20th season in succession that he has held automatic playing rights. Also active back home in his native Australia and, in December 2006, he was elected to the PGA of Australasia Board of Directors. Last European Tour win came in 2001 when he turned a five shot deficit after 54 holes into a one shot victory in The English Open. However, those with long memories still talk about his finish to his first victory ? the 1992 Scottish Open at Gleneagles ? when he covered the last five holes in seven under par to beat Colin Montgomerie for the title. Born in Bathurst in New South Wales of Irish descent and was taught to play the game by his father, Don, a keen amateur golfer. Was Australian Tour Rookie of the Year in 1987.
In a career that has spanned 27 years, he has played in 461 European Tour events finishing in the money 317 times. He has 3 wins, five seconds and five thirds along with 69 top-tens. He has won euros6,805,452 in career European Tour earnings. His best year was 1995 when he ranked 10th in the order of merit he won once and collected four top-10 finishes.
2015 Notes: Joined the European Senior Tour and in five starts his best finish was T-11th in the Swiss Seniors Open. This will be O'Malley's first start in the United States since finishing T-44th at the WGC-American Express Championship which was held in Atlanta, Ga.
