Rick Fehr

Started playing golf at age 11 with his father in Seattle and a year later, he was in his first junior competition. He won the Greater Seattle Junior Championship three times. In 1979, he won the Washington State Junior title at age 16 and also captured the Junior PGA Championship. He attended Brigham Young and won seven events before he graduated in 1984. Twice he was named first-team All-American. He played in the Masters in 1983 and 1984 along with the U.S. Open in 1984 and finished as the low amateur in both the 1984 Masters and Open. He also played on the 1983 Walker Cup Team. Things were rolling along just find when he tried to get his Tour card in 1984 and Fehr meet his first obstacle when he didn't qualify. Even without his card, he played wherever he could in 1985 and gained national attention in the U.S. Open with rounds of 69 and 67 the first two days. Even though he finished with 73 and 74, he tied for ninth place. He won his playing card for the 1986 season and went on to win the B.C. Open. Eight years later, he won the Walt Disney World/Oldsmobile Classic in Orlando, Florida, finishing two shots better than Craig Stadler and Fuzzy Zoeller. Was a runner-up nine times in his career, including a pair of second-place finishes in 1991, 1992 and 1993. Played a total of 406 events on the tour, played full time between 1985 and 2000. Earned $4,018,239. In the mid-2000s spent some time as a player manager with Gaylord Sports Management and as general manager/director of golf at Trilogy GC at Redmond Ridge in the Seattle area. Fehr now earns his living as a sports agent for professional golfers with Fehr Sports Management.
When he turned 50 in 2012 played in four Champions Tour events, best finish was T-35th at the Greater Hickory Classic.
2013 Notes: Played in 12 events through the Career Victory category. His best showing came in August when he finished T-16th at Dick's Sporting Goods Open. Finished the year 103rd on the money list.
