Roberto Diaz

Attended La Salle de Veracruz-Heritage Academy. Earliest golf memory was traveling with his family to the Junior World Championship in San Diego. If he wasn't a professional golfer, would be a golf coach. Made all-conference and all-region teams and was a four-time Division II All-American at University South Carolina-Aiken. Was conference Freshman of the Year. Was team champion at Americas Junior Cup matches.
Graduated with a business administration degree and turned professional. Played in numerous mini-tour events. Played his first Web.com Tour event at 2012 Rex Hospital Open, but missed the cut. After that, he played in five PGA Tour Latinoamerica events, with his best finish being a T-22nd at the Lexus Peru Open.
2013 Notes: Played the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, entering 10 events and making six cuts. Best finishes was T-14th at the TransAmerican Power Prod. and Colombian Open. Was 58th on the Order of Merit. Ended the year finishing T-56th at PGA Tour Q-school which got him a spot onto the Web.Com Tour for 2014.
2014 Web.com Summary: Tournaments Entered - 15; In Money - 8; Top-10 Finishes - 1; Scoring Average - 70.62 (Rank 80th); Money - $64,392 (Rank 78th); Best Finish ? T-4th Rex Hospital Open. Was the man on the bubble, 75th at the Regular Season finale in Portland, Ore., where he missed the cut and fell outside the top-75, thus missing the Web.com Tour Finals and failing to secure full exempt Tour status in 2015. In March, played in his first PGA Tour event at the Puerto Rico Open as a sponsor's exemption, missing the cut. Also Played in four PGA Tour Latinoamérica events in February-March-April, making two cuts. Was runner-up at the TransAmerican Power Products CRV Open in Guadalajara, Mexico when he lost in a seven-way playoff finish. Opened the tournament with 63 to lead by one. 2016 Web.com Summary: Tournaments Entered - 21; In Money - 12; Top-10 Finishes - 2; Scoring Average - 70.52 (Rank 81st); Money - $96,968 (Rank 51st); Best Finish ? T-2nd Corales Puntacana Resort, T-7th Colombia Championship. Suffered an injury in late June after the Air Capital Classic and had to miss three starts to recover. Finished 63rd on the Finals money list after posting a T-61st at the Albertsons Boise Open and a T-24th at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship.
