Sam Little

Secured the last card for the 2006 season after finishing 116th on The European Tour Order of Merit in his rookie season. Two of his best performances of the year came in Scotland, finishing joint eighth in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles and then 28th tied in the lucrative dunhill links championship. Only earned at place in the latter tournament when Scotland's David Drysdale was forced to withdraw through injury. A few weeks later got up and down on the final hole of the Mallorca Classic, his final event of the season, to leapfrog Drysdale in the race to secure their cards. Started playing aged nine with his father and brother Jamie, also a professional on the Challenge Tour, at their local course in Bushey, Hertfordshire. His golfing ambitions were strengthened at 13 when he had the opportunity of playing with his hero, Nick Faldo. Represented England in 1996 and 1997 prior to turning professional. Tried on six previous occasions to gain his card via the Qualifying School process, the first time as an amateur in 1995. He made the Final Stage in 2002 and 2003, making it third time lucky in 2004, securing the 27th card and secured his card for the first time. Coached by Peter Mitchell. A self confessed West Ham fanatic, plays the occasional game of five-a-side football.
Best European Tour finish 5th in 2003 Maderia Island Open.
