Became only the second Dane, behind Thomas Bjorn, to play in The Ryder Cup when he qualified to be part of Nick Faldo?s European team at Valhalla Golf Club in 2008. Excelled in the first afternoon fourball session where he partnered Lee Westwood to a half-point against J B Holmes and Boo Weekley. Booked his place on the flight to Kentucky with an excellent 2008 season which featured a dozen top 15 finishes, including six in a row during an impressive ending to the year. Maintained that consistency in 2009 and recorded his best finish in a Major ? T-6th at the U.S. Open. He secured his first European Tour title in the 2002 Irish Open at Fota Island and followed it with a 2nd in the 2007 Mercedes-Benz Championship in Germany. He began his professional life on the European Challenge Tour and quickly gave notice of his potential, winning his first Challenge Tour event ? the 1998 Navision Open Golf Championship at Himmerland in Denmark after a three way playoff ? within a year of turning professional. That victory helped him graduate to The European Tour at the end of the season en route to some strong performances, regularly featuring in the upper echelons of the Order of Merit in the years that followed, with his highest finish to date being 8th in 2007. he suffered a fractured rib in May 2012 which kept him out of action for the rest of the year. Restored to full health in 2014 he took 101st place in The Race to Dubai. Has not had a top-ten finish since his 6th place finish at the 2015 Alfred Dunhill Championship. His U.S. Open start is his first major start since the 2009 PGA Championship.
