Started playing golf at the age of 7. Credits her father as the individual most influencing her career. Married Pete Upton on Jan. 24, 2004.
Won the 1998 Optimist International as a junior and was a semifinalist in the 1998 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. While at the University of Tulsa, won the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate three consecutive years (1999-2001). Was a three-year Academic All-American (2000-02) and a first-team All-American selection from 1999-2002. Finished her senior season ranked second nationally and won 10 collegiate events during her four-year career, which is the second-most in school history behind Nancy Lopez's 11 titles.
In June 2002, turned professional; recorded three top-10 finishes on the Futures Tour, including a tie for fourth at the Ann Arbor Futures Classic; tied for 24th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 2003 season.
In 2003, best finish was a tie for 11th at her first event as an LPGA professional, the Safeway PING, where she closed with rounds of 66-65; competed on the Futures Tour, where she won two events and posted nine additional top-10 finishes to finish first on the money list and earn exempt status on the LPGA Tour for 2004; was named 2003 Futures Tour Player of the Year.
In 2004, posted four top-10 finishes, including a season-best, third-place finish at the Franklin American Mortgage Championship; recorded a career-low 63 during the third round of the Welch's/Fry's Championship, where she finished fourth.
In 2005, became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Franklin American Mortgage Championship; recorded four additional top-20 finishes.
In 2006, recorded a season-best tie for second at the Wendy's Championship for Children; crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at the U.S. Women's Open, where she tied for third and recorded her best finish in a major championship.
In 2007, recorded her second-career LPGA Tour victory at the Fields Open in Hawaii; tied her career-low 63 during the opening round of the Navistar LPGA Classic; crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings at the Evian Masters; recorded the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career during the third round of the Honda LPGA Thailand 2007; posted a 1-0-2 record for the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup Team.
In 2008, best finish was a tie for fourth at the LPGA State Farm Classic.
In 2009, best finish was a tie for fourth at the Honda LPGA Thailand, where she carded a career-low 63 in the final round.
In 2010, best finish was 14th at the CVS/pharmacy Challenge and tied for 14th at the Kia Classic.
In 2011, best finish was a tie for 10th at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup; tied for 19th at the Kraft Nabisco Championship; tied for 25th at the Evian Masters; tied for 26th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
