T.J. Vogel

The University of Florida product rolled to a convincing victory in the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in 2012, winning the 36-hole final match 12-and-10. It was the second largest margin of victory in championship history. He birdied six of the final seven holes in the morning 18 of the title match. He made 22 birdies to just one bogey in his final 68 holes of play.
As a junior golfer, Vogel won top events such as the Rolex Tournament of Champions in Missouri and the PGA Junior in Ohio. He was recruited by all the top colleges and chose to go to USC before leaving after two years to get closer to home and attend Florida this past year. His father Joe, who coaches the women's golf team at Florida International, has been his only teacher so the move back to Florida was to get closer to his teacher.
