Started playing golf at the age of 7â?¦Credits her father and brothers as the individuals most influencing her career.
Leon's junior career included competing in four U.S. Girls' Junior Championships and three U.S. Women's Amateur Championships. On the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit, she was a two-time Rolex Junior Second-Team All-America, won two events, and represented the United States on the 2003 PING Junior Solheim Cup Team. Leon captured both the 2005 Pacific Northwest Golf Association Women's Amateur Championship and the 2006 Southern Amateur Championship, and was selected to the 2006 U.S. Curtis Cup team. In her two years at the University of Georgia, she was a unanimous 2006 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Year selection and was named First-Team All-SEC. She was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) First-Team All-American lists in 2006 and 2007.
In 2007, turned professional in June and recorded two victories in eight events on the Duramed Futures Tour at the CIGNA Golf Classic and Betty Puskar Golf Classic; tied for 20th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 2008 LPGA season.
In 2008, recorded a season-best tie for 14th at the SemGroup Championship; carded a career-best 65 in the second round of the Ginn Tribute.
In 2009, recorded a career-best sixth place at the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship; posted a tie for 10th at the season-opening SBS Open at Turtle Bay.
