Teresa Lu

Started playing golf at age 11. She credits several people with influencing her career, including her parents, her godfather, Dr. Ernie Huang, her first golf coach in Taiwan, Liang-Hsi Chen, as well as Glen Daugherty and Henri Reis.
She was the low amateur at the 2005 Taiwan LPGA Open (T-5th). Finished 10th at the 2005 Kosaido Taiwan Japan Friendship Tournament. Advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Girls' Junior in 2003 and 2005, reaching the semifinals in 2004. As a member of Team Chinese Taipei, she finished T-4th at the 2004 Women's World Amateur Team Championship. Also played one year on the American Junior Golf Association circuit and was named a 2005 First-Team Rolex Junior All-American. Finished 2nd at the 2005 AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship to Morgan Pressel and was a member of the winning 2005 AJGA West Canon Cup Team.
In 2005, she turned professional in November. She finished T-22nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, but lost in a three-hole, seven-way playoff for one of the three final exempt cards and earned non-exempt status for the 2006 LPGA season.
In 2006, she recorded the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career during the third round of the MasterCard Classic.
In 2007, she played on three tours, including the Asian Ladies Golf Tour, the Taiwanese Ladies Golf Association and the LPGA Tour. Her best finishes on the LPGA Tour were T-9th at both the Corona Championship and Navistar LPGA Classic.
In 2008, she recorded a career-best T-3rd at the Ginn Open; carded her second LPGA career hole-in-one during the third round of the Safeway International, en route to a career-low 66. She recorded three additional top-10 finishes, including a T-10th at the U.S. Women's Open, her career-best finish at a major championship.
In 2009, her best finish was T-11th at the Honda LPGA Thailand and Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, where she recorded a season-low 67 in the third round. She crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings at the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship with a T-36th finish.
In 2010, her best finish was T-8th at the Safeway Classic, where she shot 67-73-72.
Since 2012, Lu has played on the Japan LPGA Tour. In 2012, she had a 5th-place finish at the Yonex Ladies and a 6th-place finish in the Fujisankei Ladies Classic.
She also had a successful 2013 season, including victories at the Mizuno Classic, where she fired a 14-under par. Also had runner-up finishes at the Yamaha Ladies Open, Miyagi TV Cup, Nitori Ladies Tournament and Tour Championship Ricoh Cup. She finished 3rd at the Fujitsu Ladies and 4th in the Japan Women's Open. With her win at Mizuno, she could have joined the LPGA, but declined the opportunity.
2014 Notes: Lu won the Resort Trust Ladies Cup and finished 4th at the KKT Cup Ladies Open after shooting scores of 68-70-72.
2015 Notes: She won the Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament, Resort Trust Ladies, NEC Karuizawa 72, Japan LPGA Championship Konica Minolta Cup and Fujitsu Ladies on the LPGA of Japan Tour. She also finished T-35th at the ANA Inspiration. She finished T-35 at the U.S. Women's Open, 6th at the RICOH Women's British Open and T-16th at the TOTO Japan Classic.
She won the Daikin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament again in 2016 to start the year.
2016 Notes: She captured wins at the Daio Paper Elleair Ladies Open, Munsingwear Ladies Tokai Classic, CTBC Ladies Open and Dakin Orchid Ladies Golf Tournament. She finished T-14th at the Ricoh Women's British Open and finished T-59th at the U.S. Women's Open. She posted 12 top-10 finishes on the season.
2017 Notes: She won four JLPGA tournaments, LPGA Tour Championship Ricoh Cup, Fujitsu Ladies, Nichirei Open and Studio Alice Ladies Open. She finished T-15th at the Toto Japan Classic an finished the year with 13 top-10 finishes.
2018 Notes: Lu has made 10 JLPGA starts, posting eight top-20 finishes and a season-best T-5th finish at the Chukyo TV Bridgestone Ladies Open.
