Yuta Ikeda

Since he started playing golf at age 6, Ikeda has admired and respected professional golfer Jumbo Ozaki. Won his first title the Japan PGA Championship by seven shots with final rounds of 69-65 in rainy conditions to claim his first Japan PGA title in June 2009. Both rounds were played on Sunday after rain washed out play on the first day. The win secured a five-year exemption on the tour and entry into the British Open at Turnberry.
As an amateur, Ikeda won the 2003 World Junior Golf Championship. In 2006, he won the title at the USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship, and also was selected the Most Valuable Player. Was a member of the Japan National team from 2000-07. Since his maiden Japan Tour victory in 2009, he has won a minimum of one tournament per season through 2016. He earned a spot on the 2016 national men's Olympic Golf team and played in the 2016 Rio Olympic games finishing T-21st.
