Harding played college golf at Lamar University near Houston, Texas, and represented his country as an amateur golfer. After graduating, he earned a place on the Sunshine Tour on his first attempt, finishing 3rd at the 2009 qualifying school while still an amateur. He won a tournament in each of his first three seasons on the tour, in 2010, '11 and '12. He won again in 2015 and '16 and then twice in two weeks in 2018. With a pair of victories on the 2018/19 Sunshine Tour at the Investec Royal Swazi Open and the Lombard Insurance Classic, he finished 2nd on the tour's Order of Merit for the year.
In July 2018, Harding made a rare appearance outside of Africa and won the Bank BRI Indonesia Open by a shot over Scott Vincent. Two weeks later, he won the Royal Cup in Thailand by six shots.
At the beginning of 2018, Harding was 712th in the Official World Golf Ranking but at the end of 2018 moved to 85th. He finished 3rd in the order of merit on the Asian Tour. Another interesting aspect of Hardings game, no matter where a tournament is played, Harding doesn't mind to travel to it. Since the beginning of 2018, Harding has played tournaments in 23 different countries around the world. (South African, Indonesia, Fiji, United States, Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Ireland, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Singapore, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Qatar, Oman, Kenya, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Eswatini).
2019 Notes: Started the year with a T-14th at the Honma Hong Kong Open and 4th at the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open. He finished T-7th at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and 4th at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. The South African won his first European Tour title at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters in March. He birdied three of his last four holes to post a closing 66 and secure his first European Tour title in his 54th appearance. It was his fifth worldwide win in 12 months, along with his two 2018 Asian Tour victories and two Sunshine Tour victories in May and July of 2018. A week after Qatar, he finished T-2nd at the Magical Kenyan Open, a shot behind winner Guido Migliozzi. Also finished T-51st at the Asian Tour's SMBC Singapore Open. After the Kenya finish, he climbed to 48th in the Official World Golf Ranking and was able to hold onto that position after the WGC-Dell Technologies to secure an invitation to the Masters where he finished T-12nd. Shot 64-65 on the weekend to finish T-10th at the AT&T Byron Nelson.
