Nate Lashley

Lashley got his start in golf from his father at the age 8. His parents were avid golfers. He played college golf at the University of Arizona. During his junior year, his parents and girlfriend died in a plane crash in Wyoming while flying from Oregon to Nebraska after they had watched Lashley compete in the NCAA West Regional.
Lashley turned professional after graduating in 2005 and set off on the nomadic life of mini-tours. He won the 2009 Utah Open, the 2010 and 2011 Waterloo Opens, and the 2015 Utah Open. He played on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2006 but made only two cuts in 14 events. Lashley bounced worldwide for almost 12 years playing mini-tours and selling real estate before qualifying for the PGA Tour Latinoamerica in 2015.
2015 Notes: Played in 17 Latinoamerica Tour events, making 13 cuts with five top-10 finishes. He finished T-3rd at the season-opening Avianca Colombia Open, where he posted a 7-under 65 in the third round. After missing the Mazatlan Open cut, he finished 4th at the Abierto OSDE del Centro, playing in Sunday's last group for the second time in three starts. He placed T-4th at the Lexus Panama Classic. Had another 3rd-place finish at the Mundo Maya Open when he shot 66-66 on the weekend to finish three strokes behind winner Nicholas Lindheim. He completed his first year 8th on the Order of Merit with $58,318.
2016 Notes: Had an incredible second year on the Latinoamerica Tour. He played in 12 events, making the cut in 10 with seven top-10 finishes. The first came at the Abierto Mexicano de Golf. After opening with a first-round 63, he shot 74-67-66 to finish T-4th and two strokes off the Vazquez/Nunez playoff. In his fourth start of the year, he won the San Luis Championship on the second hole of a four-man playoff. To get into the playoff, Lashley birdied his last three holes. The next week at the Copa Diners Club, he was again in the winners' circle after birdieing two of his final four holes for a two-stroke victory. Lashley had another shot at victory at the VISA Open de Argentina but lost in a playoff to Kent Bulle. The next week, he won the Shell Championship by 10 strokes. The victory earned him the Roberto De Vicenzo award. He also was the winner of the Order of Merit with $140,897, won Player of the Year honors, and most importantly gained full exempt status on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2017. Lashley did play the second half of the Korn Ferry Tour. He competed in 12 events, making eight cuts with one top-10, a T-9th at the LECOM Health Challenge. He finished 105th on the money list with $39,977.
2017 Korn Ferry Tour Summary: Tournaments Entered - 24; Rounds Played - 84; In Money - 19; Top -10 Finishes - 5; Scoring Average - 69.68 (rank 14th); Season Money $252,160 (rank 11th); Finals Money $22,326 (52nd), Priority rank (22nd); Best finish: Won the Corales Puntacana Resort by one stroke over Augusto Nunez. Also had a T-3rd finish at the Ellie Mae Classic, three strokes behind winner Martin Piller. Secured his PGA Tour card for 2018 with an 11th-place finish on the Korn Ferry TourÃ?Æ?Ã?â??Ã?â??Ã?¢Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¡Ã?â??Ã?¬Ã?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ??¬Ã?¾Ã?â??Ã?¢s regular-season money list. Before the season opener in the Bahamas, Lashley tore the meniscus in his right knee. Despite the pain, played in the first four events. He waited for the tour's four-week break to have surgery.
2018 Notes: Played in 17 PGA Tour events and made eight cuts. His best finish was T-15th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Rob Oppenheim. His best individual finish was T-18th at the Houston Open. His season was cut short due to a knee injury that required surgery.
2019 Notes: Played in 21 PGA Tour events, making 14 cuts with two top-10 finishes. Was 57th in the FedExCup standings. With his knee healed, he started in the first event of the year, finishing T-17th at the Safeway Open. With rounds of 68-68-69, he was the co-leader of the Puerto Rico Open but shot 73 in the final round to drop back into a T-8th, four strokes behind winner Martin Trainer. After being the last player to get into the field (third alternate), won the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic by six strokes over Doc Redman to earn his first PGA Tour victory in wire-to-wire fashion. Became the first alternate to win on the PGA Tour since Vaughn Taylor at the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Failed to advance from the Monday Qualifier and got in as an alternate when David Berganio, Jr. withdrew on Wednesday. He was 36 years, 6 months, and 18 days old and won in his 33rd PGA Tour start. In the FedExCup playoffs, missed the cut at the Northern Trust and was 69th at the BMW Championship.
2020 Notes: Played in 20 PGA Tour events, making nine cuts with two top-10 finishes. Was 96th in the FedExCup standings. Started his season with a T-3rd finish at the Military Tribute at The Greenbrier. Was T-3rd again at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, three strokes out of the Simpson/Finau playoff. The week before, he withdrew from the American Express due to a wrist injury that hindered him, along with a dodgy back. The problem seemed to bother him since he played in 11 events for the rest of 2020 and only made two checks, with a T-37th at the PGA Championship and a 77th place finish at Wyndham. Along the way, had to withdraw from The Memorial due to a back injury and couldn't play at Travelers for the same reason. Lashley ended his year playing in the first FedExCup playoff event, the Northern Trust, and missed the cut.
2021 Notes: Finished 4th at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, a tournament he won in 2017 when it was sanctioned by the Korn Ferry Tour.
