Matthieu Pavon

Pavon won the Servizitalia Open on the 2015 Alps Tour on the way to leading the Order of Merit in 2015. The Frenchman gained his playing rights for the 2016 Road to Oman after making the cut at the 2015 European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage at PGA Catalunya Resort.
Pavon earned a European Tour card by finishing 6th on the 2016 Road to Oman after an outstanding maiden season on the European Challenge Tour. Made a blistering start to life as a Challenge Tour player, following up a T-4th finish at the Challenge de Madrid with runner-up spots in his next two tournaments, the Turkish Airlines Challenge and the Montecchia Open by Lyoness. Would also finish as a runner-up at the Foshan Open, sealing his place on the European Tour in 2017.
2017 Notes: In his rookie year on the European Tour, he played in 30 events, making 17 cuts. Had 3 top-ten finishes, including a solo 3rd at the Open de Portugal and T-6th at the Nordea Masters. His biggest finish came at the Scottish Open, where he birdied the 17th and 18th holes on Sunday to shoot 66 and finish in 3rd place, which got him one of the last tickets to play in the Open Championship. He missed the cut at Birkdale. He finished 49th in the Race to Dubai.
2018 Notes: He played in 25 European Tour events, making 14 cuts. He started the year T-5th at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. He competed in his first U.S. Open and finished T-25th at Shinnecock Hills.
2019 Notes: Best finish T-2nd AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open 2 shots back of winner Kurt Kitayama.
2020 Notes: In 22 starts, he only was in the top ten once, T-6th in the Hero Open. He finished 74th in the Race to Dubai.
2021 Notes: In 26 DP World Tour starts, has two top tens, including a T-2nd at the Portugal Masters. He was 66th in the Race to Dubai.
2022 Notes: Things got better. In 26 starts, Pavon had five top tens, including a runner-up at the Open de Espana and a T-3rd at the Ras al Khaimah Classic. He finished 40th in the Race to Dubai.
2023 Notes: Maintained his place on the DP World Tour and earned a maiden victory on his 185th start at the 2023 Acciona Open de Espana, going wire-to-wire as he won by four shots in the Spanish capital. He carded four consecutive birdies to secure a T-5th finish at the 2023 DP World Tour Championship, which saw him end the season 15th on the Race to Dubai Rankings. His finish in the season-long standings secured dual membership for the 2024 PGA Tour season.
2024 Notes: Won the Farmers Insurance Open by one shot over Nicolai Hojgaard, earning his first PGA Tour title in his 11th career start and third as a PGA Tour member. Victory came at the age of 31 years, 2 months, 25 days. Became the first player to win on the PGA Tour representing France since World War II. After earning his card directly from the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai, he became the first player to win on the PGA Tour after earning his card. Finished 3rd at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which was shortened to 54 holes due to weather, in his first start since winning the Farmers Insurance Open. He was two shots back of the winner Wyndham Clark. He still maintained his ties to the European Tour with a 5th-place finish at the Porsche Singapore Classic. At the U.S. Open, he was 5th three shots back of the winner Bryson DeChambeau. He played in the last group with DeChambeau and 71 in the final round.
