Adilson Da Silva

Da Silva was born in Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, but later moved to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He turned professional in 1994. He has played a lot on the Southern Africa-based Sunshine Tour, winning nine times.
Da Silva was born in Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, but later moved to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He turned professional in 1994. He won the Zimbabwe PGA's Order of Merit on 5 occasions. He won over 30 Zimbabwean tournaments from 1996 - 2003. He won his first event on the Sunshine tour in 1997, has since added eleven more tournament victories, and led the Vodacom Swing Challenge standings in 2006. He holds the record for most consecutive cuts made on the Sunshine Tour with 43. He missed most of the 2001/2002 Sunshine Tour season because of a wrist injury.
Da Silva has also played extensively in Zimbabwe, where he won the Amateur Championship in 1992. He competed on the Zimbabwean PGA Tour between 1996 and 2003, winning over 30 titles and heading the Zimbabwean Order of Merit on five occasions. He played in 146 European Tour events making 87 cuts with three top-ten finishes. His best finish was T-4th at the 2016 Hero Indian Open. Has career earnings of euro527,910. He represented Brazil in the 2016 Olympics finishing T-39th.
Da Silva played in The Open Championship in 2000, 2007, and 2012, missing the cut all three times.
2022 Notes: Played 11 Legends Tour events with eight top-ten finishes. He was 2nd on the order of merit. He won the Staysure PGA Senior Championship by six shots over Joakim Haeggman. He was 2nd at the Legends Open de France, three shots back of winner Gary Marks. Also 2nd at the MCB Tour Championship - Seychelles, four shots back of winner Joakim Haeggman.
2023 Notes: He started his season by winning the Legends Tour debut event, the Riegler & Partner Legends. He shot a final round 66 and then beat Keith Horne with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
