Alex Prugh

Prugh was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended Joel E. Ferris High School, where he was a member of the golf team. He grew up playing golf, his home was right next to the Manito golf course. Alex got good playing with his older brothers and playing in tournaments that had older players. In 2004, at age 19, Prugh was the first alternate for the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Prugh was use to flying, as an amateur he played in Great Britain and Japan. His first professional victory came in New Zealand. He went on to play at the University of Washington, where he was a three-time varsity Pac-10 All-Conference.
He turned pro in 2007 after playing in the 2007 U.S. Open. He made it to the finals of the 2007 Q-School and finished T-80th earning a Web.Com Tour card. He played on the Web.Com Tour in 2008 making 14 cuts in 20 starts with seven top-25 finishes. His best finish was T-3rd at the Cox Classic. In his secon season on the Web.Com Tour won the New Zealand Open thanks to a final round 64. He earned a PGA Tour card for 2010 by finishing 16th on the Web.Com Tour money list.
2010 Notes: Played in 28 PGA Tour events, making 16 cuts with four top-ten finishes. In his second start as a PGA Tour member was 5th at the Bob Hope Classic, 2 shots back of winner Bill Haas. The next week was T-5th at the Farmers Insurance Open, 2 shots back of winner Ben Crane. In his next start was T-10th at the Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles. At the end of the year was T-2nd at the Frys.Com Open, a shot back of winner Rocco Mediate. Finished 97th in the FedExCup standings.
2011 Notes: Played in 29 PGA Tour events making 11 cuts. Best finish was T-20th at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He finished 164th in the FedExCup race losing his PGA Tour card.
2012 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 24; Rounds Played - 72; in money - 12; top -10 Finishes - 1; Scoring Average - 70.90 (rank 70th); Season money $82,506 (rank 67th); Best finish: T-8th at the BMW Charity Pro-am.
2013 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 22; Rounds Played - 70; in money - 13; top -10 Finishes - 5; Scoring Average - 69.66 (rank 11th); Season money $208,467 (rank 11th); Finals Money $15,117 (66th), Priority rank (42nd); Best finish: T-2nd Mexico Championship. Also 3rd at the Air Capital Classic and 5th at the Price Cutter Charity.
2014 Web.com Tour Summary: Tournaments entered - 11; Rounds Played - 40; in money - 9; top -10 Finishes - 1; Scoring Average - 69.85 (rank 20th); Season money $103,864 (rank 36th); Finals Money $42,805 (26th), Priority rank (41st); Best finish: 2nd South Golf Classic. Played in 16 PGA Tour events making 4 cuts. Best finish was T-29th at the Zurich Classic.
2015 Notes: Played in 27 PGA Tour events making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. Best was T-5th a the Farmers Insurance Open a shot back of the Day/English/Holmes/Stallings playoff. Next week was T-10th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am. Finished 133rd on the FedExCup standings. In the Web.com Tour Finals, played the last three events, making the cut in the last two (T-56th, T-52nd). Finished 83rd on the Finals' money list.
2016 Notes: Split his time between the PGA Tour and the Web.Com Tour. Played in 13 PGA Tour events making 7 cuts. Best finish T-29th at the Barracuda Championship, he was 193rd in the FedExCup standings. On the Web.Com Tour played in 14 events making 9 cuts with 3 top-ten finishes. Best was 5th at the Ellie Mae Classic. Was 58th in the regular season money, 77th in the finals and 88th on the Priority rankings.
