Ally Ewing

Ewing started playing golf at age 4, when her father, Jamie, cut down a 3-iron allowing her to hit plastic balls in her backyard. She was a member of the victorious 2014 USA Curtis Cup Team, going 2-0-2 at St. Louis Country Club.
During her successful junior golf career, she became the first female to win the Boys' Mississippi State Championship title; claimed the Mississippi Women's Golf Amateur Championship at Pearl River Resort; and reached the semifinals of the 2010 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship.
During her freshman year at Mississippi State, she had three top-25 finishes and was the first MSU player since 2007 to appear in the postseason, posting a 54-hole total of 226 in the NCAA West Regional. As a sophomore, she claimed her first career win in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, where she carded rounds of 71-74-69. She tied the school record with a 210 total in the M&F Bank Rebel Intercollegiate while setting a personal best and tying a program second-best with an opening-round 68. Tied for third at the SEC Championships and posted a school-record 10-under 206 to win the NCAA Central Regional. She finished 10th at the NCAA Championship that year, her ninth top-10 of the season. Received NGCA First-Team All-American honors, becoming the first Lady Bulldog to do so since 1995.
Over the summer of 2013, she finished fourth at the North & South Women's Amateur and 16th in the stroke-play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur after consecutive 72s.
During the 2013-2014 season, she earned first-team All-America honors, breaking her own single-season scoring average of 71.48. Finished fourth at the NCAA Championship. Helped the USA win the Curtis Cup. Played in the 2014 U.S. Women's Open but missed the cut after shooting 78-77.
In the 2014-2015 season, she won two tournaments - the Schooner Fall Classic and The Old Waverly Invite - and racked up five top-10 finishes. At the end of the year, she was T-12th at the SEC Championship and was nominated for the McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Award.
2015 Notes: Played in 3 LPGA events, missing the cut at the U.S. Women's Open and Marathon Classic. Was T-41st at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic. Played in just one Symetra Tour event, finishing 2nd at the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout.
2016 Notes: Although she had conditional status on the LPGA, she played on the Symetra Tour in 2016, finishing second on the money list to earn a full LPGA card for 2017. Played in 18 Symetra events, McDonald had four runner-up finishes, including the FireKeepers Championship, where she earned an exemption into the Evian Championship. McDonald was six shots back of Laura Gonzalez Escallon after two rounds when the rest of the tournament was canceled by heavy rainstorms.
2017 Notes: Played in 24 LPGA events making 19 cuts. Had a career-best 13th-place finish at the Evian Championship. She was 68th on the money list.
2018 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events making 17 cuts with three top-ten finishes. Had her first top-10 on the LPGA Tour with a T-7th at the Bank of America Founders Cup. Was T-10th at the ShopRite Classic. Best finish T-3rd at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Earned $315,781 and was 62nd on the money list, was 68th in the Race to CME.
2019 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events making 18 cuts with three top-ten finishes. She was 34th on the money list with $638,014 in earnings, also 42nd in the CME points list. Was 3rd at the ShopRite LPGA, T-6th at the ANA Inspiration, and T-10th at the U.S. Women's Open. Participated in her first Solheim Cup team as an alternate after Stacy Lewis withdrew from competition with a back injury. Ewing was 1-3-0 in the Matches.
2020 Notes: Played in 14 LPGA events making 13 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 11th on the money list with $629,772 in earnings, also 5th on the CME points list. Won for the first time at the LPGA Drive On Championship - Reynolds Lake Oconee. In her next start was 2nd at the Pelican Womens Championship, three shots back of winner Sei Young Kim. During the COVID-19 break got married to Charlie Ewing, now the golf coach at Mississippi State.
2021 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA Tour events making 20 cuts with four top-ten finishes. Finished 23rd on the CME Points list and 30th on the money list with $663,150 in earnings. Won the Bank of Hope LPGA Match Play, beating Sophia Popov 2 & 1 in the finals. The victory came on her first year anniversary of getting married to Charlie Ewing. Also, T-7th at the ANA Inspiration and T-6th at the Meijer LPGA Classic. Shot a final round 63 to finish 6th at the Women's Scottish Open, six shots back of winner Ryann O'Toole. Finished her season T-24th at the CME Group Tour Championship. She played in the Solheim Cup for a second time and had a 1-2-1 record, losing to Madelene Sagstrom in her singles match 3 & 2.
2022 Notes: Played in 21 LPGA Tour events, making 15 cuts with two top-ten finishes. She was 46th on the money list with $663,150 in earnings and was 40th in CME Points. She made five birdies in a row on the back nine Sunday to finish at 22-under 266 and win the inaugural Kroger Queen City Championship by one shot over Xiyu Lin. She was T-7th Pelican Womens Championship. Served as a Player Director on the LPGA Board of Directors in 2022.
2023 Notes: Was T-5th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mt. and T-8th at the Meijer LPGA Classic. She finished T-9th at the Freed Group Women's Scottish Open, six shots back of the winner Celine Boutier.
