Anne Chen

Anne Chen started playing tennis when she was three years old in Melbourne, Australia. The tennis courts were next to a golf course and on many occasions, she would sneak across the parking lot and play the 16th hole. She moved to the U.S. when she was nine and has dual citizenship in Australia and the United States.
She won five high school tournaments during her freshman year at Clements High School, including the Region III-6A golf championship. A week later, she played in her first professional tournament ? the LPGA Volunteers of America Texas Shootout, missing the cut.
Chen finished 2nd in the 2017 Insperity Invitational/AJGA Patrick Reed Championship and T-5th in the 2017 AJGA Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior. In 2016, she was T-3rd in the 2016 AJGA David Toms Foundation Shreveport Junior, 5th in the 2016 LJT, Texas Girls' Invitational and T-9th in the 2016 AJGA Polo Junior Classic Invitational. In 2015, she won the LJT and the Texas Girls' Invitational.
Chen will be playing in her first Women's U.S. Open. Chen's final round of qualifying was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 7th hole. The sophomore-to-be was the youngest player to compete in the 2015 U.S. Women?s Amateur, at 14, but missed the cut. She qualified and missed the cut for a second time in 2016.
Chen's father, Bryon, will be her caddie in the U.S. Women?s Open.
She hopes to attend college and get a degree, and then turn professional and play on the LPGA tour.
