Ashley Armstrong

Shot 144 at the Glen Echo Country Club in St. Louis, Mo., to play in the 2012 U.S. Women's Open.
In her freshman year, she played in all 10 events the Irish played in. During those tournaments, she had six top-25 finishes. Stepped up her game tremendously throughout the spring. Tied for 26th the NCAA Central Regional. Won the Big East Championship, and helped her team to a second place finish. Finished 13th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Placed 16th at the Notre Dame Clover Cup Tournament. At the Darius Rucker Invitational and the LSU Tiger Classic, she finished in a tie for 14th. In the fall, her best finish was a tie for 23rd at the Hoosier Fall Invitational, where she helped her team to a second place finish. Before Notre Dame, she was a four-year letter winner at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. She was selected as team MVP all four years. Won the 2011 Women's Western Golf Association National Junior Championship and the AJGA Boyne Championships. A two-time Hewlett-Packard AJGA All-American honoree. Finished her AJGA career with eight top-10 finishes. Runner-up at the 2010 Randy Wise Junior Open, 2009 Flossmoor Junior Open and the 2008 Future Legends. Won the 2010 Jerry Pate Sportsmanship Award presented by the AJGA. Led her high school to the 2009 Illinois State Championship. Was a three-time Illinois Junior Golf Association Player of the Year (2006-2008). Ranked fourth out of 707 students in her high school graduating class with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Started playing golf at the age of 8 because of her parents.
