Barb Mucha

As a 10-year-old she played in a junior golf tournament and fell in love with the game. She then switched from bowling and Barb's parents got a yearly pass for her to play at Ridgewood Municipal Golf Course in Parma, Ohio. They also introduced her to head pro Leo Zamedro, who became her longtime coach and reason for her success in golf.
Mucha was a semifinalist at the 1984 Women's Trans-National. That same year, she received All-American honorable mention honors while playing for Michigan State University, where she captured two collegiate titles: the Illinois State Invitational and the Ohio State Invitational.
She turned professional in 1985, playing the Futures Tour where she posted six victories over two years. Barb qualified for the LPGA tour in 1987 and played full-time between '87 and 2003 In 2004 she suffered nerve damage to her foot and had to take most of the season off. In 2005 she played in seven events before her health forced her to take most of the year off. She returned and played in 10 events in 2006 and eight in 2007 but her game wasn't what it us to be. She also got married in 2005 to Bill Kolb II.
Mucha played her last event in 2009. She played in 403 LPGA events making 296 cuts. She was in the top-10 40 times and won five times. Her best year on tour was 1997, even though she didn't win she was 3rd, twice and had 7 top-10s. She won $309,684 which placed her 23rd on the money list. The year before she was 15th on the money list with $304,805 and she won the 1996 Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. In her 24 years on the LPGA, she earned $2,457,927.
After retiring from the LPGA Tour, she starting teaching and landed a job at Grand Cypress in Orlando. Barb has been associated with Grand Cypress for over 25 years. She enjoys teaching all levels of players, focusing on both the physical and mental game. She is currently working with several aspiring mini-tour, collegiate, and junior golfers to assist them in reaching their goal of becoming an LPGA or PGA touring professional. She plays on the Legends Tour and won the 2012 Wendy's Charity Challenge. She was T-9th in the 2017 Senior LPGA championship followed by a T-30th finish in 2018.

Barb shot 74-73-73-79=299 (+7) to finish T-12th in the first U.S. Senior Women's Open
