Brittany Lang

Born in Richmond, Va., and raised in McKinney, Texas, Lang started playing golf at the age of 9. Credits her dad, who introduced her to the game, and family, because of their love and support, as the individuals most influencing her career. Her brother, Luke, who was an All-Conference golfer at Arkansas Tech, caddies for her. Achieved success on the American Junior Golf Association circuit, winning eight events and was a two-time First-Team Polo Golf Junior All-American (2001 and 2002). Also represented the U.S. in the 2002 Junior Solheim Cup.
In 2003, won the North and South Women's Amateur and the Women's Western Amateur Championship in consecutive weeks. Also won the 2004 Trans-National Amateur title. Attended Duke University for two years. Won six collegiate tournaments and was named the 2005 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year. Won back-to-back ACC individual titles (2004-05) and was named the 2004 ACC Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman College Golfer of the Year. Was a member of the victorious 2004 USA Curtis Cup Team and earned medalist honors in the 2004 Women's Amateur Public Links before advancing to the quarterfinals of match play.
Competed on a sponsor exemption in both the 2005 Kraft Nabisco Championship and the LPGA Corning Classic, where she T-15th. Her decorated amateur career was capped in the 2005 U.S. Women's Open at Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo., where she T-2nd with then-fellow amateur Morgan Pressel.
In 2005, turned professional in July and made her professional debut via a sponsor exemption at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, where she T-36th. Also competed on a sponsor exemption at the State Farm Classic and the BMO Financial Group Canadian Women's Open, where she T-6th. She T-22nd at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament and then birdied the final hole of a three-hole, seven-way playoff to earn one of the final three cards for the 2006 LPGA season.
In 2006, recorded seven top-10 finishes, including a T-3rd at both the Wegmans LPGA and Mizuno Classic.
In 2007, recorded a season-best T-4th at both the Sybase Classic presented by ShopRite and the CN Canadian Women's Open.
In 2008, tied her career-best runner-up finishes at the Sybase Classic and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational, where she carded a career-low 65 in the final round. Recorded six additional top-10 finishes, including five in a row to finish the season. Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings with a T-9th at the Hana Bank-Kolon� Championship.
In 2009, tied her career-best runner-up finish at the Navistar LPGA� Classic, where she crossed the $2 million mark in career earnings. Also, T-2nd at the Mizuno Classic. Recorded five additional top-10 finishes: T-7th at the season-opening SBS Open at Turtle Bay, T-4th at the Honda LPGA Thailand, T-7th at the Corona Championship and Hana Bank-Kolon Championship, and T-8th at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Qualified for her first U.S. Solheim Cup Team, one of three rookies on the victorious 2009 team, earning two points in three matches with a 1-0-2 record.
In 2010, best finish was a T-5th at the U.S. Women's Open at Oakmont and T-10th at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
In 2011, recorded seven top-10 finishes including 2nd at the Ricoh Women's British Open, T-4th at the Navistar LPGA Classic, T-5th at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia; 7th at the Safeway Classic; T-8th at the ShopRite LPGA Classic; and T-9th at the Sybase Match Play Championship and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Crossed the $3 million mark in career earnings after a T-13th at the LPGA HanaBank Championship. Competed on her second U.S. Solheim Cup Team with a 1-3-0 record.
2012 Notes: Played in 25 events, making 24 cuts. Lang had three top-10 finishes and won the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic, capturing a victory in a four-way, three-hole sudden-death playoff. Earned $575,263, ranking her 24th on the Tour money list.
2013 Notes: Played in 28 events, making 22 cuts. Had seven top-20 finishes, including T-7th at the U.S. Women's Open. Earned $355,809, ranking her 42nd on the Tour money list. Competed on her third U.S. Solheim Cup Team and posted a record of 3-1-0.
2014 Notes: She was 29th on the money list with $551,703 and 22nd in CME points. She made 26 cuts in 30 starts and had five top-10s. She had her best finish of the year with a T-3rd at the Reignwood LPGA Classic in China, three shots back of winner Mirim Lee.
2015 Notes: Played in 29 events making 21 cuts, finished 25th on the money list and 26th in CME points. Lang had 5 top-5s, was 2nd at the Manulife LPGA Classic, one shot back of winner Suzann Pettersen. Lang finished at 21-under 267 with a final-round 65 and led by one shot as Pettersen had three holes remaining. But Pettersen birdied two of the last three to win. Named to the U.S. Solheim Cup team by Juli Inkster as a captain's pick. Lang was 0-2-1 in the matches, losing her singles match to Melissa Reid, 2 and 1.
2016 Notes: Played in 28 events and made 23 cuts. Won the U.S. Women's Open in a playoff over Anna Nordqvist after they tied at 6-under 282. Lang made par on all three holes of the playoff and Nordqvist was given a two-stroke penalty for touching the sand with her club in a fairway bunker on the second extra hole to finish the playoff at 3 over. Even though she had 6 top-10, her next best finish was T-5th at the KEB HanaBank Championship. Finished 9th on the money list with $1.259,836 and 18th in CME points. Had the highest earnings of any American player on the LPGA Official Money List.
2017 Notes: Played in 25 LPGA events and made 20 cuts. Had six top-20 finishes including one top-10 at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship. Was 69th on the money list. Made it on the U.S. Solheim Cup team for the 5th time, finishing 2-1-0 in the U.S. victory. She was 2-0 in team play and lost her singles match to Charley Hull, 1 down.
2018 Notes: Played in 22 LPGA events making 7 cuts. Best finish T-25th at the Kingsmill Championship. She was 127th on the money list with $58,989 which ranked 127th. It was he worst year as a full-time member of the LPGA Tour.
2019 Notes: Best finish T-22nd at the ISPS Handa Vic Open.
